THE
WORD OF GOD IS OUR CHIEF COMFORT,
FOR BY IT THE HOLY SPIRIT CONVINCES US:
Say, "Goodbye shrink!"
JOIN "SHRINKS
ANONYMOUS"
Read, sing, and pray through this page
once a day for
a month...
It will get you off of booze, valium, crack, Prozac...
It will
get you up yonder on higher ground...
It will adjourn your silly little pity
party for good...
The Word of God washes all the earthy grubby trash away.
My thoughts are in this color and NOT inspired...
Maybe useful though... To
help you apply the Word.
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship
one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son
cleanseth us
from all sin.
Isaiah 62:4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken;
neither shall thy land
any more be termed Desolate:
but thou shalt be called Hephzibah,
and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee,
and thy land shall
be married.
Do you feel "forsaken"?
You
aren't, you know... Not if you are in Christ.
Claim it OUT LOUD... Right now!
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be
without covetousness; and be content
with
such things as ye have: for he hath said,
I will never leave thee,
nor forsake thee.
Did you ever realize that denying
covetousness
leads to contentment?
Are you satisfied with God?
Psalm
119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
But, where are His
Words?
In the Bible, right?
So, are you reading His Word... Daily?
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live;
yet
not I, but Christ liveth in me:
and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for
me.
So, this life Christ gave you...
Will you just
live it as it comes...
And stop complaining about His arrangements?
Psalm 60:4 Thou hast given a banner to them
that fear thee,
that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
Do you fear God enough to stop bellyaching
about His
will for you?
If you do, He will place His banner of love over you.
What
a deal !!!
Luke 15:6 And when he cometh home,
he
calleth together his friends and neighbours,
saying unto them, Rejoice with
me;
for I have found my sheep which was lost.
You
are a "found" sheep...
Bow your head and thank the Father for
sending Jesus to find you.
Psalm 40:3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God:
many shall see it, and fear,
and shall trust in the LORD.
Some
of you good old boys think singing is only for sissies
What a blessing you
are missing!
Ask the Father to put a new song in your MOUTH...
Don't let
some yo-yo tell you it is enough to
have "a song in your heart."
Open your mouth, and SING to the Lord.
Malachi
4:2 But unto you that fear my name
shall the Sun
of righteousness arise
with healing in his wings;
and ye shall go
forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Jesus heals
today.
The Rhema boys want a show up front
so they can take a good offering.
You need healing RIGHT NOW...
Right HERE...
But, are you satisfied
with healing that
makes you "grow up"?
Stop begging for deliverance
from hangnails...
Ask the Healer to heal your mind and soul.
1
Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand:
be ye therefore sober, and
watch unto prayer.
Are
you sober?
Not a drunk, right?
The point here is, are you serious about
watching for Jesus?
He wants to be expected...
Every day,
Every
hour,
Every minute.
When is the last time you recall really expecting
Jesus?
Kneel down and tell Him that
you want to see Him as soon as He
will let you.
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified
by the works of the law,
but by the faith of Jesus Christ,
(Living By Faith)
even we have believed in Jesus Christ,
that we might be justified by the
faith of Christ,
and not by the works of the law:
for by the works of
the law shall no flesh be justified.
Have you been trying
to do something to impress Jesus?
Did you get saved by your own works?
No? Good. You got that right.
Now, why are you trying to work to KEEP yourself
saved?
Bow your head and tell Jesus again that you
will live by believing
in His promises to you.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him
by the
blood of the Lamb,
and by the word of their testimony;
and they
loved not their lives unto the death.
So, you have troubles,
eh?
Well, would you be willing to die for Jesus?
You would?
Great!
So, how about doing just a little suffering for Him?
Ah now, there's the rub.
You want either death or Glory,
and He gave you burdens with your blessings.
When will you thank Him for them?
Psalm 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee,
when my heart
is overwhelmed:
lead me to the rock that
is higher than I.
So why are you crying to the shrink?
Shame on you.
Let's start crying out to Jesus from now on.
Stop getting
high on Prozac,
and get up on the Rock of our salvation, OK?
Acts 15:25 It seemed good unto us,
being assembled with one accord, to send
chosen men
unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 Men
that
have hazarded their lives
for the name of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
Have you ever taken a risk
for Jesus?
If not, how about starting every day
with a covenant...
"Jesus, today I want to take a risk just for you."
Start by risking
a friendship by witnessing to an unsaved friend.
Psalm 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee:
O let
me not wander from thy commandments.
What is there
in your heart which you have not given up?
Is some little closet closed to
Jesus?
Open the door to your WHOLE heart.
That is the thing that is sending
you to the shrink, you know.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you
another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
The
Holy Spirit is being used as a side show these days.
He wants to be your comforter.
He wants to teach you the Word of God.
So, why are you screaming at Him to
do more tricks?
Ask Him to work on you soul for a while...
Stop begging
for Signs and Wonders.
1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith,
lay hold on eternal life,
whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed
a
good profession before many witnesses.
So, you
got saved long ago?
That's great!
But, it's about time you got into the
battle.
Either get up on the front line,
Or carry ammunition...
But
do SOMETHING in this battle.
You are no use to the Lord's church
While
you fret over your personal needs.
Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again
from the dead our
Lord Jesus,
that great shepherd of the sheep,
through the blood of the
everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do
his will,
working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight,
through
Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
Now,
let's talk about "good works".
You don't work to GET saved...
You don't work to STAY saved...
You work to do His will.
Are YOU?
Isaiah 40:8 The grass
withereth, the flower fadeth:
but the word
of our God shall stand for ever.
You are fading
away...
Ain't nothing you can do about it.
So, what lasts?
The Word.
So, what are you investing in?
Mutual Funds?
Self-pity?
Be careful!
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly
in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke
is easy, and my burden is light.
A yoke is made for
two critters.
Jesus is making the point that you are
in this life with
HIM!
So, who is in the yoke with you?
Jesus, or your shrink?
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through him.
God does
not have any wrath planned for you.
Wrath is for the wicked who refuse salvation.
So, whatever is happening to you right now...
He planned it...
He will
see you through to victory.
Believe it.
1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour
and suffer reproach,
because we trust in the living God,
who is the Saviour of all men,
specially of those that believe.
When is the last time
someone of the world
mocked you because you love Jesus?
You aren't much
if you aren't mocked.
Go see if you can catch some trouble
because of
Jesus.
1Thessalonians 3:8 For now we live,
if ye stand
fast in the Lord.
Stand fast, not run away.
What are you running away from?
Luke 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep,
if he lose one of them,
doth not leave the ninety and nine
in the wilderness,
and go after that
which is lost, until he find it?
Do you want the perfect
distraction from your troubles?
Here it is...
Go looking for lost sheep.
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his
blood,
even the forgiveness of sins:
You HAVE
forgiveness of sins.
So, why are you cuddling all your failures and past sins.
Confess them, and get up and get on with life.
The pity party is over.
"There's
Not a Friend Like the Lowly Jesus."
And, don't you ever forget
it!
When
I was about 15 years old in Mwanza, Tanzania,
I used to play Monopoly on the
back porch of the Manning home
with Mercy Manning. Inside, Augusta Manning
would be having
a Bible and craft club for Hindu women. These women are treated
about as bad as any women on earth by their husbands and culture.
I
remember one day hearing Augusta getting the ladies' attention,
and she sang,
"There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus..."
I peeked into the
living room out of curiosity, and every one
of those Hindu women was crying.
They had no friend on earth
whom they could trust, and Augusta had found
them a friend-- Jesus.
Is He YOUR friend too?
Yes? I'm glad to hear that...
So, tell me please, how long has it been since you introduced
your Friend,
Jesus, to some hurting soul?
Stop feeling
sorry for yourself,
and be a blessing to someone... Today!
Proverbs 8:34 Blessed is
the man that heareth me,
watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts
of my doors.
Are you looking for Jesus?
Or, are
you looking for another disappointment?
You will probably get just what you
are looking for.
Hmmmmmmmm
Psalm
40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit,
out of the miry clay,
and set my feet upon a rock,
and established
my goings.
So, where are YOU going?
BLESSED
QUIETNESS
Joys
are flowing like a river,
Since the Comforter has come;
He abides with
us forever,
Makes the trusting heart His home.
Refrain
Blessed
quietness, holy quietness,
What assurance in my soul!
On the stormy sea,
He speaks peace to me,
How the billows cease to roll!
Bringing
life and health and gladness,
All around this heavenly Guest,
Banished
unbelief and sadness,
Changed our weariness to rest.
Refrain
Like
the rain that falls from heaven,
Like the sunlight from the sky,
So the
Holy Ghost is given,
Coming on us from on high.
Refrain
See,
a fruitful field is growing,
Blessed fruit of righteousness;
And the streams
of life are flowing
In the lonely wilderness.
Refrain
What
a wonderful salvation,
Where we always see His face!
What perfect habitation,
What a quiet resting place!
