A
QUIET PLACE TO EXALT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST The
Web is not usually a place of worship. We have asked our dear Savior to make this page
an exception. We will try to lift you out of whatever is hurting and distracting
you right now, and we hope to leave you in the very presence of the Godhead
for just a while. We
have given you a journey through the Word of God in the form of a visit with the
Savior. Only the most brief thoughts will be added by us prod your thinking
along toward our Lord. Luke
1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of
Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph,
of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And the angel came
in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee:
blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at
his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and
shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son
of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father
David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his
kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall
this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto
her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow
thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called
the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived
a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. 38 And Mary said, Behold the
handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed
from her. Luke
1:46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced
in God my Saviour. 48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden:
for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49 For
he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. 50 And
his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. 51 He hath
shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of
their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted
them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the
rich he hath sent empty away. 54 He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance
of his mercy; 55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for
ever. Mark
1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee,
and was baptized of John in Jordan. 10 And straightway coming up out of the
water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased. John
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made
by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was
life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness;
and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose
name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light,
that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent
to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every
man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was
made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his
own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power
to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which
were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld
his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom
I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For
the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No
man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of
the Father, he hath declared him. Do
you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God? If so, you are
born again. There is virtually nothing else to finish the work of your salvation.
You have come to know Jesus as the Gospels present him, and you believe in, on,
about, over, under, and all around him. That is all he asks of you. Are you questioning
your standing with Jesus? Why? What else can you possibly do but believe he is
the Son of God? Matthew
11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and
my burden is light. There
are two yokes, the heavy one and the light one. Should we complain about the yoke
when the other person in that yoke with us is the eternal God? Luke
15:2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners,
and eateth with them. 3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying, 4
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave
the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until
he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours,
saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. 7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth,
more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Have
any lost sheep been visited lately because you and Jesus looked in on them? Luke
22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his
disciples also followed him. 40 And when he was at the place, he said unto
them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. 41 And he was withdrawn from
them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying, Father,
if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine,
be done. 43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening
him. 44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was
as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 45 And when he
rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for
sorrow, 46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter
into temptation. There
is sweet fellowship in praying with Jesus. He prayed for you to his Father in
John 17, and it is his prayer for you that results in your sins being forgotten
by everyone in heaven. Could you "rise up" and pray with Jesus right
now? Matthew
27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a
place of a skull, 34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and
when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. 35 And they crucified him,
and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they
cast lots. 36 And sitting down they watched him there; 37 And set up over
his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38 Then
were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another
on the left. 39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise
also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him
now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God;
let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth
hour. They
gave him a drink of vinegar, they stripped him naked, they sat down to watch him
like a circus show. They hung him between heaven above, earth below, and thieves
on the right hand and the left. And the lights went out. But, one thing they got
right-- "THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS." When is the last
time you thought about this-- As all manner of mockery and evil was done to God
in the flesh, he was thinking about you! Is this reason enough to praise his holy
name right now? Sing

Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine; For Thee all the follies of sin
I resign; My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou; If ever I loved Thee,
my Jesus, tis now. I
love Thee because Thou hast first loved me, And purchased my pardon on Calvarys
tree; I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow; If ever I loved
Thee, my Jesus, tis now. Ill
love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death, And praise Thee as long as Thou
lendest me breath; And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow, If
ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, tis now. In
mansions of glory and endless delight, Ill ever adore Thee in heaven so
bright; Ill sing with the glittering crown on my brow, If ever I loved
Thee, my Jesus, tis now.
Hebrews
9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered
in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling
the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall
the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot
to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Some
Bible teachers now teach that the Blood of Jesus was just physical and ran out
on the ground and that was the end of it. Verse 14 is in the present tense. The
Blood of Jesus Christ, which comes to you in infinite pain and sorrow, is your
ONLY hope that your sin is GONE, and that tomorrow's sin is already canceled.
What can you say about that, right now, to Jesus? Well, say it to him, OK? Hallelujah,
What a Savior! Luke
24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus,
which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And they talked together
of all these things which had happened. 15 And it came to pass, that, while
they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17 And he
said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another,
as ye walk, and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering
said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things
which are come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said unto them, What
things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet
mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief
priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified
him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel:
and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. 22
Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early
at the sepulchre; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying,
that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24
And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even
so as the women had said: but him they saw not. 25 Then he said unto them,
O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26
Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the
scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village,
whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But
they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the
day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30 And it came to pass,
as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave
to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished
out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn
within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the
eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord
is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what things were
done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread. When
was the last time your heart burned within you because you sensed that Jesus was
near? Please
think about those people on the road talking with Jesus. They did not know who
he was-- Jesus wanted them to recognize him AFTER their knowledge was perfected.
He wanted their hearts to burn as he taught. When were their eyes opened? This
is one of those places where a little knowledge of the Middle Ease, and a sanctified
imagination, will open to us one of the most priceless moments in the life of
Jesus. As missionaries to Ethiopia, a Middle Eastern culture, we often sat at
a meal with Ethiopian Christians. The custom was for the host, or an honored guest,
to take the flat bread from the table in his hands, give God thanks for the meal,
and break off pieces of bread and hand them to the people at the table AS HE WAS
PRAYING. Middle Eastern Christians do not close their eyes as they pray, nor do
the Jews even today. So,
Jesus tries to walk on down the road once the small group arrives in Emmaus, but
Middle Eastern hospitality calls for lodging the stranger overnight and feeding
him. Jesus accepts the invitation. At the meal, this teacher of choice things
from the Law of Moses is asked to pray. He lifts the bread, exalts the Father,
and begins to pass pieces of bread around as he continues to pray. Now,
grab hold please-- When was the last meal Jesus had eaten? Answer: The Lord's
Supper which was taken out of the Passover. The first time he sits with those
he loves again, after his death and resurrection, he is again handing out the
bread. Is someone recalling the words, "This is my body." By now, do
you suppose the voice of Jesus is stirring their hearts, the voice of an old friend
who had sat at their table many times before, and praised God for bread? Perhaps
someone it thinking, "Could this be the Master?" If
that is not enough to move you somewhat, think of this-- As each one at the table
in that home in Emmaus responded to the hand of Jesus with a piece of bread in
it, AND, as they took the piece of bread from him, what did they see? Answer:
The print of the nails in his hand, and
how he was known of them in breaking of bread. The
hand of Jesus will one day be extended in love to YOU, and you will know him,
for you too will see the print of the nails in his hands. Think on these things.
John 20:19
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors
were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus
and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when
he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples
glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto
you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. To
those men who loved him, Jesus was a fair sight indeed-- Fairest
Lord Jesus The
first word out of Jesus' mouth to the disciples was, "Peace." He had
told them much earlier, Peace
I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto
you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
The disciples were hunkered down, door locked, trembling in fear. Are you dealing
with fear right now? Listen very carefully, and you will hear the Master say,
"Peace I give unto
you..... let not your heart be troubled....." John
14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may
be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith
unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto
the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father
also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto
him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him,
Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he
that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the
Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?
the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth
in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the
Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12 Verily, verily,
I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be
glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth
him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall
be in you. Philippians
2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being
in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made
himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made
in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled
himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore
God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and
things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. This
is our duty, joy, and calling-- We may show the mind of Christ everywhere we go,
and the Spriti of God will then take the harvest.
May the Mind of Christ My Savior.... Finally,
the rest of your life and eternity, the Good Shepherd will lead you: Psalms
1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth
in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his
delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever
he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which
the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the
way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Sing

Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption,
and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall
have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then
shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in
victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks
be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work
of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Matthew
24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened,
and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and
the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign
of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and
great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other. Matthew
24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man
be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and
drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into
the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so
shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mark
13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power
and glory. Revelation
19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying,
Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore,
which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of
his servants at her hand. 3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose
up for ever and ever. 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts
fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants,
and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice
of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty
thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let
us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is
come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that
she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the
righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which
are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are
the true sayings of God. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he
said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren
that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the
spirit of prophecy. Revelation
21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first
earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy
city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned
for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall
be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former
things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I
make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and
faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water
of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will
be his God, and he shall be my son. Revelation
21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are
the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon,
to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light
thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light
of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25
And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night
there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither
whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in
the Lamb's book of life. Can
