The Templeton award is given to religious figures once a year to those who have distinguished themselves in "religion." Investor John Marks Templeton founded the award in order to recognize the spiritual dimension overlooked by the Nobel Prizes. Apart from his role in inviting the judging committee, which represents all the major religions of the world, Templeton has no say in the winner selection. The committee has, in the past, selected, "world-renown figures such as Billy Graham (1982), Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (1983) and Dr. Inamullah Khan (1988), founder and secretary-general of the Modern World Muslim Congress in Karachi, Pakistan, who tirelessly worked to coordinate peace between Muslims, Christians and Jews." |
Chuck Colson and Mother Teresa have also received the award.
Now, since when does an alleged "Christian" like Bill Bright find himself standing in front of Templeton (self-professed Buddhist) and Prince Philip of England (New Age heavy numero uno)? Well, since Bill has clearly shown he is a pagan-- that's when.
Though Bright has been grandstanding by fasting recently, his fasts have loosened his brain or else have released the devils who have control over him. Bright has become grossly ecumenical. He is loading Campus Crusade with Roman Catholics and Charismatic extremists. He has also claimed that recently he has received thousands of letters from Muslims claiming they have seen visions of Jesus. Well, those Muslim's Jesus and Bright's Jesus is a devil by the name of Jesus. Many exist. The Lord Jesus Christ is NOT who Bright and his Muslim entourage are following.
Thus, we trust that Bill Bright will have fun with his $1 million. This is as close as he will get to heaven. He might as well have some fun while he is getting ready for hell fire.

LONDON, MAY 8, 1996 -- Dr. William R. "Bill" Bright, president and founder of Campus Crusade for Christ International and one of the most vigorous Christian evangelists in the world, was presented today with the 1996 Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion. The presentation was made by H.R.H. Prince Philip in a private ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Today's presentation will be followed tomorrow, Thursday, May 9th, with a public ceremony in Rome at the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere, the first Christian building opened in Rome, founded by St. Callistus in the year 217. The ceremony will be chaired by Edward Cardinal Cassidy, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
