THE FIRST INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTIONHistorians tell us that the First Industrial Revolution took place during 3000 to 2000 BC. During that era, irrigation and farming machines were invented along with copper and bronze tools. Pyramids were raised using millions of slaves. Star charts were invented in Sumer which lasted into the day of Greece. Sumer even had street lights by burning big lumps of pitch (crude oil) in platters on posts around the capital Nippor. Along the way, the First Industrial Revolution resulted in the individual tribal member coming under the war lord who had the capital to raise armies and enslave peasants to farm for him and pamper his various lusts. The discoveries from archeology digs in Egypt, Dilmun, and Mesopotamia have shown how advanced and modern life was in that industrial age-- IF-- ONLY IF you were in the ruling class. The Bible tells of a king of Israel who made engines of war, and his era was marked by peace. |
"Deterrence" also became the engine that drove inventors and war lords to build
bigger and better devices for defense and attack. Never again did the human race
enjoy the basic peace of the local tribal unity and tranquility which was destroyed
by the First Industrial Revolution.
War has, ever since, been our experience. When a serf who was too great a wimp to go to war-- a wimp who ran to Moscow and Oxford to escape "boot camp"-- he was mysteriously raised to lordship later. And, once in the seat of power he suddenly lusted to go to war and play with the engines of privilege. He met every week with his cabinet and went over a list of "targets" to murder in a war he voted against when he was a lowly Senator. So, what's new folks?
THE SECOND INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
Now, most of us missed the First Industrial Revolution because we were not paying attention or were not there to appreciate the great progress into nationalism and slavery. However; the Second Industrial Revolution is somewhat fresher on our minds due to the more faithful historians there to tell the story. This Second Industrial Revolution took place between 500 and about 1900. I know that is a long time to grab hold of, but it is truly the era of the machine.
At the beginning of the Second Industrial Revolution, iron was put to more efficient use. Smelting and refining was mastered, and production went up sharply. This resulted in better farming machines, and it allowed the improvement of flour mills, building sized clocks, and all-iron plows. Next came the development of steel. By combining the base metal iron with carbon and other metals, cutting edges and bearings of steel became possible, and the world leaped forward exponentially. This era (the 1600s), again, was marked by capitalists in the agricultural class gaining the upper hand on thousands of their fellow men. These land lords ruled the entire life of the serfs who worked under them and owned nothing.
Also, this era was marked by the improvement in war making machines. Gun powder and steel resulted in guns with cartridges and repeating actions. The Gatling gun gave the world the great blessing of the machine gun which found its way even into the documents on citizen's "Rights" of some nations. We note that the machine gun is still with us in the same principle that it was invented long ago. Rockets and bombs were invented including methods of launching them. The only real change has been in accuracy and distance of launch.
By the end of the Second Industrial Revolution (early 1900s), two classes of serfs had come into existence. There were still those serfs living on the farm lands in England and Europe, while other serfs were virtual slaves of the industrial capitalists in the cities. This reached right into the cribs of children who worked in the sweat shops up to 16 hours a day. The industrialists had themselves in a very superior position. The Vanderbilts and Rockefellers were snobs who hated the rank and file. They chewed them up and spit them out like so much garbage. Industrial injuries and deaths were common and no protection was ever offered by the industrialists who held the serfs as so much scum. Rockefeller never gave a tip of more than a dime to anyone. The serfs were still in big trouble, and they were still de facto slaves.
Now, it must be noted that the industrialists did not make their millions without selling goods to the serfs, so the serfs were allowed a limited share of the wealth with which to buy the new inventions and creature comforts. This system made the serfs willing to go on with the miserable system. They had a few more toys to play with than their ancestors had, and labor produced much greater returns per man power unit. This enslaved them even worse as bankers invents easy methods to go into debt to buy the toys before the surfs actually had the money.
Farmers
first rejoiced in the hand crank corn shucker and sheller which meant one man
could farm a lot more land. The McCormick reaper and threshing machine were even
more of a boon, and the farmer could go into debt and buy more land. The cotton
farmer could buy a cotton gin and he too could farm more land. Years later the
cotton harvester caused huge farms to come to life. All this was based on machines
invented ex nihilo, that is, from no original things known.
In the United States, and to some degree in Europe, and at the end of the Second Industrial Revolution, socialistic regulatory devices were set in place to limit monopolistic control and brutal work ethics of the elite. I know this sounds nasty to some conservatives, but you guys working an eight hour day can thank those with a social conscience, mostly fiery preachers in England and the USA, who called for change. Wilberforce in England demanded the end to child labor and slavery, while Bible thumping preachers in America kept pounding away at the wicked elite. A handful of industrialists, like Mr. Wannamaker, did have a conscience toward the serfs. Life improved.
But, you can just count on it friend, the elitists shifted to the side and found new ways to manipulate the masses. They infiltrated governments of the industrial world by gleaning off an elite corps of cadre from Harvard, Yale, Oxford, and the class schools of Europe. Cecil Rhodes set in motion a world elite class and financed it so that even America's favorite draft dodger Bill Clinton, one of the elite's hand picked boys, co-rules (under supervision from above) the United States. The citizen-worker has been put back under slavery again by banking devices of the Federal Reserve, rising taxation, eroding monetary value, the Group of Seven Nations, and mortgage captivity. Some old story from 3000 B.C. but with the illusion of "rights" and "liberty."
Today, the average citizen of the White world is more a slave to the world elite than ever an African slave was during the past 5000 years. The masterful thing about the present arrangement is that the slaves have substantial choice, plenty of toys, and they have freedom of religion and movement. By giving these bits of candy to the average serf, the elite can disappear into a fog of high intrigue, and the system moves on while the world elite class skims the cream of taxation, investment, and mortgages. Was this a fair payback for invention and hard work? I think not.
THE THIRD INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
Most who read here will be quite angry with me for my assumptions, but I have no confidence in the ignoramus generations now riding the trolley into Nirvana future. So, read with caution.
You may feel I have invented the above title to sustain my point. I think not, and please hear me out. I believe we have entered the Third Industrial Revolution.
From about 1900 to the the recent past, almost all inventions have simply been improvements or innovations on Second Industrial Revolution inventions. The internal combustion engine is status quo from the beginning until the present moment. The big oil interests in the world elite have made sure we keep sucking their oil. Any alternative to land travel by gasoline engine is made to appear "too expensive." New ideas are bought up by oil companies or Detroit auto makers and pitched. We serfs simply go along with it because the toys inside the coach are such fun, and the old coach is, after all, out of style. We note, however, that Her Majesty's pretty gold coach is still quite serviceable after 150 years of use. Peculiar ain't it, friend?
The airplane has changed, but where are the results of UFO research from Groom Lake? It has recently become abundantly clear that UFOs are the toys of the world elite, and they DO NOT want us to have the advantage of their discoveries. Again, it is probably because the cost of travel would plummet, and they would lose oil profits.
The Chinese rocket was improved on, a coach was added onto the nose, and off we went to the moon. The results of this space travel have been a bummer. The moon landings and probes have given us about 60 pounds of rocks to play with. Probes of the planets have been expensive to the tax payer and have resulted in nothing but pretty pictures in National Geographic. The search for life in the universe has ended in the discovery of a rock from Mars which allegedly defied Mars' gravity, found its way to earth, and landed smack in the lap of the rocket launchers. Hey, groupies, we could save a lot of money by sending rocks to The Oval Office and NASA.
If you think that modern inventions have really changed or enhanced our freedom and basic way of life for the better, kindly look in the Yellow Pages under "psychiatrists." If you still believe these world elitists have been taking tender loving care of us, I have this fantastic beach front property in Death Valley which I would like to sell you. At $8,000,000 it is a bargain, and that would just barely get me a ticket into the New World Order. Come on now, make me a squire, OK?
Technology has been added to existing inventions from long ago. The craft of inventing ex nihilo, from nothing, has all but faded into oblivion. I know this sounds radical, but, before you debate me, kindly secure a book on the history of machines and inventions. You will quickly realize that we have become fat and sassy, but we have invented very little along the lines of those men in the Second Industrial Revolution. For example, the steam engine had NO ancestor, yet it came into existence and busy use in under 50 years. The weaving loom had a similar history.
Serfdom is back with a vengeance as the lords of the New World Order use debt and taxation to subject the modern serfs. In fact, today, both husband and wife are back in the sweat shops. They are being pushed mercilessly to work "overtime," and in many homes, one of the older kids is also at work in order to keep the family going. Many industrial lords, like Sears, use only part time help so that they can avoid health benefits to the serfs. Housing is expensive, and the old coach, insanely called "durable goods," depreciates to junk value in a mere eight years. The only really secure work for serfs is to stand in welfare lines as slaves de facto of the New World Order. In return, these emasculated serfs re-elect the lords to power at each election charade.
Ah, but the Third Industrial Revolution is off the ground and doing very well, thank you. Its engine is a strange machine. It was invented, pretty much ex nihilo, about 50 years ago. It is made of bits of silicone, magnetic oxides, and is powered by minuscule quantities of electricity. And this engine has linked men and women of all nations, serfs and elitists alike, to one another in a status free world. In fact, the highest gold plated lords of Camelot have no desire to even use their fingers to the purpose of work, so it is a rare event to find a true feudal squire, of the New World Order, in the loop. Ain't it grand? This new industrial engine has only recently come into existence from nowhere. It is now found in nearly every home in the developed world, and the "developing world" is rapidly finding how to get into the network, thus escaping their lords of the mind. The industrial "engine" we are talking about is the computer.
The computer was a mere device for controlling data and speeding up the solution of calculations-- at first that is. It was first used to determine the percent the serfs would pay in taxes, fees, and fines, through the Federal Reserve offices, to Rockefeller in his top floor office at the Chase. Ah, but something changed, right? Soon, it became obvious that a way to transmit data from one point to another would vastly enhance business and military logistics. Thus, various countries bought into a network set up for the exchange of data and communications. But, those serfs-- they finally, after 5000 years, got the upper hand on the world high tullymuck lords. As the French serfs stormed the Bastille, as the Slaves in Surinam ran off the Dutch, as the peasants of England ran to Australia to start over, and as the Puritans fled to North America to start fresh in God fearing freedom-- the modern world serfs began to surf.
The elite, in a supreme moment of oversight caused by their drunkenness on power, let the serfs and slaves of the industrial world onto the network of the elite. This was seen as a way to "Network" the world in the manner called for by Alice Bailey, Madam Blavatsky, Cecil Rhodes, and all of the modern New Age gurus. The INTERNET was soon invented, and, as Al Gore and Bill Clinton came into office in 1993, they were rejoicing over the "Information Superhighway" they envisioned. Al Gore was fairly dancing a jig over the INTERNET. He got his own Web Page, and he was on-line in person at one time chatting away like a jive jabberwocky.
But, reality sank in one day in his lordship's oval office. It became obvious that the "information Superhighway" had no ruler. No Feudal Lord ruled it. The INTERNET in particular was a mystical web something like the human brain. No single point in the web could be called "home" or the "capitol"-- NO CONTROL ROOM! No one soul was in charge. And, horror of horrors, even Boutros Boutros Ghali was out of the loop! Overnight, the INTERNET had evolved into a realm that existed in 200 million homes and businesses around the world, and the New World Order, the Harvard snobs, and the Yale Death Club boys were all left out in the cold.
Al Gore soon realized that he had been reduced to just one in 200 million, and panic set in. Also, and this you must NOT forget, human thought was under NO higher human authority. Just as the Politically Correct Movement was being imprinted in the world society by his lordship and her ladyship Clinton, anyone in the world could call a homosexual a queer and no one could stop him. Any Waco Koresh could get on the Web, capture his acre with an inexpensive domain name, and tell all comers that he was God, and the lords of the Rothschild pyramid could neither stop nor gas him. Most of all, any Arkansas civilian who had the goods on the Clintons could broadcast it all the way to Peking for the small investment of about five cents of electricity. Do you understand now why I called this the Third Industrial Revolution? I was a inventive revolution alright, but also a revolution in free speech.
Under color of concern for the dear children, the pedophiles and pimps of Congress, and the kings who promote death and mayhem in the Middle East, initiated controls over the serfs again. But, oops, they had to figure out how to enter a computer in Hong Kong from Washington DC. Couldn't be done-- not legally anyway. So, they pulled up short to regroup. That is right where we are now, and you may be sure that they are setting in place a new strategy to take charge of the INTERNET and the liberty of the serfs. Freedom is a fine toy to toss to the serfs, but only if the world elite control and dole it out.
What is next? Well, a chip will be demanded, by forcing defense providers to put it into all computers, which will give access to every hard drive in the world from the CIA, G-5, the BATF, etc. The serfs will soon learn how to bypass the chip, and the next phase will set in. Candy. The governing elite will toss candy and advantages to the big servers which will be too hard to resist, and, in the name of the dear children, like the ones the elitists gassed in Waco, the INTERNET will be served up under Federal sponsorship.
At the date of updating this article, we now have 72 Fusion centers, private companies, which can collect and snoop for any data they can find on everyone worldwide. Since they are private, you cannot demand to see the data they have on you, and the government will not find it for you, though the government buys it from Fusion. Also, any foreign entity can buy your information for a price.
This will soon turn into a challenge for the serfs to go even more local. Technology will make it possible soon for the individual serf to bounce his digital waves off of the moon (Ham radio), send them on Tesla magnetic waves, and possibly by targeted radio bounce signals all over the world. Radio transmission is NOW in place in main frames, and soon across town. The server, as broker of freedom, along with the telephone companies, may become obsolete overnight as users gain point to point capabilities. Groupies, it is indeed another revolution. Who knows what new and old technology will be dug up to carry on the battle for true freedom-- freedom of thought. This is the last frontier.
The Bible calls for a day soon, if events are read carefully from the book of The Revelation of John, when the world will come under one central thought control agency. This will even be pinpointed in one man. This was a mocking point to atheists and Libertarians in times past, but it is strange and awesome these days to hear self-confessed atheists talking in terms of apocalyptic calamity approaching.
But, will the Third Industrial Revolution last long enough to fling us into glory?
HERE IS HOW THE THIRD INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION IS COLLAPSING BEFORE OUR EYES.
We are now well into the Third Industrial Revolution. You see, the revolution is over when all new inventions are based on former ones. Today, all invention, as see it, simply evolve from improvements and innovations on a Commadore 64, or new applications for that invention. Little or nothing is being created ex nihilo.
This scenario is purely New Age. Jeremy Rifkin is a rank New Ager. BUT, the data is useful, and it is clear that something new is needed to sustain life as we know it. The notion that the sun and thermal energy could sustain another Third Industrial Revolution is suspect, but with some new technology it might well work. Someone is going to have to do some inventing ex nihilo (out of nothing). At the same time all of the White Race is systematically dumbing down the next generation in order to persuade them to be happy obedient sheeple. The two concepts DO NOT run on the same rails.
So, Rifkin is not a mad man, as I see it, but he has wicked competition from bankers and the world elite. His dream of another Industrial Revolution, including an ethical revolution, is impossible because of the heart of man, which the Bible says, ".....is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked." The present elite will NOT allow any alleged revolution which will take away their firm grip on the lives of the masses. Thus, Rifkin, who is well known for his New Age philosophy, would also not allow the ethical Nirvana he looks for include the ethic of the Carpenter of Nazareth. For this reason, God himself will enter and make sure the future is a disaster so that the world WILL finally be willing to receive the Messianic ethic.
So,
learn some things, and weed out the New Age nonsense:
Rifkin's Third Industrial Revolution begins AFTER the ongoing collapse. Let me make something VERY clear-- The age of technology IS the Third Industrial Revolution. It is NOW, not later. The point is, it lasted all to short a time, and it is now thoroughly corrupted by money grubbers on high. The end will not be quite as glorious as Rifkin's dreams. The whole world will collapse economically soon, as the Bible prophecies, and the muddle and trembling will not be rescued by invention. Thus, we may live to see the virtual end of the Third Industrial Revolution as all technology runs to war making and control of the masses and asses- "We the sheeple."
Great Babylon will finally fall, according to the Bible, and the world banking system will be gone along with all the wealth and purchase power of EVERYONE.
I shall be writing soon about how to survive the coming collapse as a Bible believer and not be a victim or terror.
What Rifkin is talking about in his lateral world is exactly what the Bible in Revelation 3 talks about. The Nicolaitans (rule of the elite), and the Laodiceans (rule of the masses) is NOT pleasing to God. So a war is now under way between the vertical top and the lateral bottom.
Who
will win?
Answer: Neither.
The world under Antichrist will be a chaotic struggle between Satan and humanity. God, during the Bible era called the Great Tribulation, WANTS all men to wear themselves out so that when Messiah Christ returns after Armageddon, all those left alive will be only too pleased to welcome his return.
Thus, the potential Third Industrial Revolution now under way will end in disaster.
CONCLUSION:
Let us review, in order to draw this together. Please consider the role of the serfs in all three of human history's industrial revolutions. It is often assumed that revolution is based upon the desire of the masses to be liberated. We, in the USA, assume this because of our own historic rebellion and liberation from England. Our history books fail to make it clear that the lords of New England were the movers and shakers in the American Revolution. They were guarding their grip on commerce as they were throwing off taxation. Because of the general atmosphere in the nation, the end result was that the serfs also gained some degree of liberation due to the opportunity to "go west." The Louisiana Purchase, a few years later, kept the back door open for the serfs for one hundred years, and the results were a generally free nation-- until, that is, the innovation of the modern lordship moved to the top of the Chase Manhattan Bank.
During the First Industrial Revolution, the war lords and sheiks rose to power and subjected the serfs or slaves to their rule. That was absolutely the only result of that revolution. The serfs got nothing but bondage. During the Second Industrial Revolution, the industrialists and bankers of the white world took power away from the land barons. The serfs were liberated from the squires and land lords only to be put under worse slavery in the sweat shops of the industrial cities. The serfs have NEVER been liberated to the point where they had full choice in the matter.
So, the computer and the World Wide Web has liberated the serfs-- the Third Industrial Revolution is ours-- finally. We have to put up with a handful of lords like Bill Gates and Steve Case, but they are rather benign since we are their bread and butter. Keep an eye on them though, folks, because they are being invited to world elitist events on a regular basis. They will eventually join the New World Order rush to take us into slavery again. We must be looking ahead for ways to slip around them also.
The serfs can now buy and sell and communicate in privacy without the lords from above entering the loop.
This whole cyber-technology is indeed a first. But beware-- The next revolt will be the revolt of the world lords against us, the serfs. They will NOT stand still. They will soon be, in fact are right now, attempting to put us back under slavery to their system or world rule. Will we let them? Probably. Most serfs are selfish folk, and they will be easy to bribe with lolly pops and cookies of the high tech sort. If the Feds offer subsidized benefits and INTERNET Federal services, most serfs will gladly get in line.
The recent attempt to stop pornography by censorship, and by control of the serf's use of the computer, had nothing to do with stopping pornography. If it did, the prime movers would NOT have been womanizers from Arkansas and lesbian girl molesters from Florida. If you are truly concerned about your kids finding porn, and you should be, then teach them about sin and righteousness and judgment BEFORE they boot up.
Some of you serfs are such filthy sexed-up scum that you rejoice when the World's Federal Lords offer to raise your kids. It salves your conscience about your lousy child raising delinquency. Kiss your freedom AND your kids good-bye if you are one of the above. Ritalin, television, and vaccinations will take your kids out sooner than pornography. You are the ones who told your kids, "Use condoms." That is the Clintonian model for killing your future non-producers and eliminating them from the welfare roles. You, because of your own liberty, have no use for the 7th Commandment in Moses' law, so no Federal program will save you kids-- indeed the Feds will KILL your kids. It is NOW happening with condoms, sex education, trash music, Hollywood's offerings, and the news media's doctored message. Rest in peace groupies. You can save a bundle on your kids' funerals by making a down payment now to the mortician.
For now, until God allows the inevitable world Beast system to rule, let us press forward with the liberation of the serfs of the world. We need to bring back the Tesla coil and magnetic field generation. We need to look into the spark generator as a tool of blocking intruders into our cyber-communication. We need a "firewall" for the Feds which will shoot back. Also, we need a filter which can ghost the "Clipper Chip" so that the One Worlders think they are hearing us while we slip past them. We need new inventions and encryption techniques based on the "chaos theory" principles which will insure that the New World Order cannot "reformat them" and "copy from drive C."
Onward, cyber-groupies of the world. Let us be busy finding our way to one another in deep dark places in Cyber-space. Resist the Yale Skull and Bones and the Rhodes Scholar agents of slavery. Harden those computers and keep expecting trouble from above. They have NOT caught up with us yet, and that is good for them and us. It is about time the Council on Foreign Relations had a REAL problem to discuss-- you and me--

Microsoft tie-up with Orissa (state of India)
The world renowned Microsoft Corporation has entered into a strategic partnership and a technical tie-up with the Orissa Government to develop computer professionals as well as quality software for major corporates and Government departments in the State. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister, Mr. J. B. Patnaik, the Industries Minister, Mr. Niranjan Patnaik, and other senior officials of the State. The Microsoft Corporation Regional Manager Indian sub- continent, Mr. Rajiv Nair, and the Orissa Government undertaking Industrial Development Corporation of Orissa Limited (IDCOL) Managing Director, Mr. Dillip Rath, signed the agreement.
As per the agreement, the IDCOL and the Orissa State Electronic Development Corporation (OSEDC) would form a new company to take up the information technology related activities in the State with the technical support from the Microsoft.
UPDATED 2017 -- THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
Little did I imagine that another Industrial Revolution could spring on us so soon after the computer and robotic age. But, it is coming at us now.
Dr. Michio Kaku explains the bubbles of progress in the past, and he projects the fourth bubble coming next. His count is based on technology, while my discussion of Industrial Revolutions above are more about history. So, his fourth "bubble" of technology is now my Fourth Industrual Revolution.
If you get this clear in your thinking, as a parent, you will know how to prepare your kids for vocations of the next wave of technology.
So, what does the future hold for you, and for your kids?
When the automobile arrived, some people hated it. Lord Delamere, a White British settler in Kenya, hated the motor car. When the railway was put through from Mombasa on the Kenya coast to Lake Victoria and opened that part of the British Empire to progress and trade, Lord Delamere hated the train that roared past his plantation. He would race it in his hosre and buggy to prove he could go faster than the train. That was in about 1905.
But strangely, Lord Delamere was a fantastic innovator. He spent down his whole estate in England to develop his plantation in Kenya. He developed a strain of wheat that could survive the fierce conditions of farming in Kenya. And, he cross bred European cattle with local lean and hardy cattle until he came up with a strain that could resist tropical diseases while growing much larger. He was no slouch, and he had a powerful personality which inspired many other British settlers to survive and thrive in tropical farming. But, he could not stand to see the next wave of technology sneak up on him.
The video by Dr. Kaku above should make it clear that a new wave of technology is just around the corner. The heroic inventors are alive now who will bring on this bubble of new inventions and innovations. We as Bible believers must be careful we don't become cynical and morbid about this. When the radio became usable and started coming into American homes long ago, many preachers declared it demonic, and they cursed the "devil box." Now, we all use radio all the time and carry a radio based cell phone wherever we go. The same preachers cursed the television, but the Gospel has been preached all around the world via this even more popular "devil box." Now, you sit here reading my thoughts, perhaps in Perth, Australia, or in Bermingham, UK, and it is again another "devil box." Much evil has gone forth on the Internet. But, we find born again friends on Facebook also.
Whatever comes next will be both evil and good, and probably in even greater extremes than past innovations in technology. But, there is a verse in the Bible which should help us see what is happening:
Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
When some nation builds a building taller than the last tallest building, we are in awe. We go to amusement parks and ride on machines to be terrified by a thing made by an engineer who may have been a borderline mad man. We wonder at nature, but in us is a sense of wonder also for the things men have done with what God gave them to start with. This is because we are made in the image of God, and God is a creator. The creations of man often grab our sense of wonder.
I recall climbing up the inside of the Statue of Liberty in New York City. It was a tiring experience, but when I stood in the crown and looked out at the world and water around me, I was in awe of this huge lady. Watch this video please. You will hear a lot about very non-spiritual things, but along the way you will be caused to think about how some of these trends could benefit the Lord's Church and its ministry. Consider the small group effect coming at us. Some churches have broken up their Wednesday evening meeting into several small groups, and the result is that poeple are becoming closer to one another in Christ. Lonliness is a big deal in our modern warped culture. Could small gruups be the answer? And, are you man enough to turn loose of that big mob in front of you if their fellowship in Christ were to grow stronger?
TECHNOLOGY GOES TO CHURCH
The video was done in 2011, and some of the innovations they were talking about then have already happened.
One of these days, you will be walking down the aisle of the supermarket, and you will hit a "sweet spot." A voice, targeted with existing technology, will speak inside your head, and no one around you will hear a thing. "Good afternoon, Mr. Van Nattan. That jar of steak sauce you picked up and put back last Thursday is on a "timewarp sale" just for you. Fifty percent has been knocked off the price at the cash regiaster for you today if you buy the steak sauce." This will drive you mad the first time it happens, but I promise you, within a couple of months you will be eager to see what the store's tracking and marketing system will offer you next.
Then, you use the restroom at another store, and as you walk out the entry way, the same voice says, "Mr. Van Nattan, you fly is down sir."
So, what will be marketed to churches during the coming Fouth Technology Bubble era? And, how will we know it is a good idea to use some of these new toys?
Technolody was dragged down the aisle of the church house about twenty years ago, and what happened was the mega church on steroids. The church is online live, and people are pampered 24/7 by their local church. Allegedly personal messages pop up on the screen from everyone from the pastor to the church janitor. But, the result of all these wonder is that the mega church is spiritualy retarded and mostly a spectator sport. If the Lord's Church wants to keep up in the coming Fourth Technology Bubble, it will only be useful to God the Holy Spirit if it subjects all the new toys of technology to the bedrock standard of church life:
Ephesians
4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive,
and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also
descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is
the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the
work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all
come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with
every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby
they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up
into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole
body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth,
according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase
of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Verse 11 tells us whom Christ gave as gifts to the Church. Then, in 12 through 16 we see what these gifted people are to accomplish. Every technology toy you decide to adapt to your local church ministry must be producing the results in those verses. If the technology does not produce theise spiritual qualities, it is junk jewelry to God. Toss it out at once.
I also notice that in Verse 16 that the church is a "Whole Body" organism. The top down church, with its pastors, managers, famous Amos musicians, and Freudian shrinks on call, is a freak. Every Bible beleiver is said to be "joined together" with all the rest of the believers. He is "supplieth" whatever "measure" of godliness and gifts the other saints need to be "edified."
This means that your church has to go beyond the new technology to do what computers and robots cannot do. You and your people have to become intuitive, identify the needs of one another, and serve. The oldest service organization in the world it the New Testament Church. If technology only pampers and amuses the mob, you are not a church. You are a circus, and nothing more.
The picture of a pastor, evangelist, and Bible teacher in the New Testament is a life of service. There will always be a need for Christians who serve others. Technology cannot figure out the need and meet it where service is the need.
If you are a pastor, are you preparing your young people to serve, both in life vocation AND in the Lord's Church? Faithfulness to Christ has ALWAYS included in serving others. If your idea of the perfect church is a place where people "show up every time the doors are open," you are growing robots, not servants. You are on auto pilot, and when a real life crisis comes to a member in your church, THEY WILL CRASH. This is because you area all about nickels and noses and a butt every 24 inches.
Here is a situation to illustrate the point:
You have an older lady in the church who is shut in due to health issues. You have a young man in the assembly who has zeal to serve the Lord. Could you find a way for this young man to minister to the shut in lady on Sunday morning? If you are a clone of recent dogma, no, absolutely not. The young man must be sitting in a pew on Sunday morning listening to YOU preach.
On the other hand, suppose you ask this young man to join you during the week as you study for your Sunday sermons. Many of you have stopped studying anyway, so this will terrify you. To those of you who work at the Gospel and study to show yourself approved unto God, this could work. The young man will be prepared to go Sunday morning and minister the Word to the shut in lady. And, he will learn from her things about life that you never heard of. Even better, that young man will stop off and buy her some oranges because he learned she craves them.
You will boast of your live online feed of the Sunday service. That is robot service. It is not personal and does not allow for someone to be present and intuitive as to the lady's needs and comprehension. A "live feed" is dead works to living people.
And, you will have prepared a young man to serve in both open society AND in the Lord's Church. He will be a better employee at work on Monday morning.
But, you have noticed something in my illustration, right? The future for Christian pastors will be in personal training of servants. Most of you diddle heads will refuse to go to the trouble.
It is all about going back to the methods of the Apostle Paul:
1 Corinthians 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
1 Thessalonians 3:1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; 2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
Acts 19:22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season. 23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
1 Corinthians 16:10 Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. 11 Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.
1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; 2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. 3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
It is very clear from these texts that preparing young Christians to serve the Church is hard work. The end of the process is that the servant can be trusted to go forth and repeat what the Holy Spirit did in the teacher. Are YOU up to it?
Or, does everything in the local church have to revolve around your shoulders?
We must not declare all new technology to be "of the devil." Transistors, bits, and bites are not inherantly sinful. The question is, how can we use these new tech toys to serve one another and preach the Gospel?
You are sitting on a bus bench waiting for your bus. A young man is sitting across the street talking into a cell phone. Soon, an employee comes out of a restaurant nearby and brings you a cup of iced tea. Inside your head you hear, "I am a Bible believer Bill, and I have been promised a blessing from Christ if I even give you a drink of water. Have a blessed day, Bill."

UNPREDICTABILITY, OR GOD'S SURPRIZES
I probably should not venture too deeply into this territory. It might be best handled by a theologian. But, let us give it some thought.
We do not know what God has for us just on down the road. We do know that he is already there because God lives in eternity, and that includes the future. This is impossible for us to conceptualize because we live right here, right now. We can predict, and we can read prophecy in the Bible, and we can get pretty close on some things. But, even with prophecy, God has made sure we do not "know the day nor the hour" of coming events. It is the fools in Christendom who try to set dates for future events. Harold Camping will bear me out on that.
In terms of technology, we wait for the geniuses, like Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, to open the door to the next world of possibilities. After trying thousands of substances for the filiment of a light bulb, Edison finally found one. And, there is light after dark all over the world.
There is great hubris and gratification in discovering the next world of progress. Society runs to the man who makes such discoveries and nags him for more. When Bill Gates left Microsoft and went to Africa to dig irrigation ditches, it was like the death of a guru in India. The wise man on the mountain top was gone.
Can Bible believers become twisted mentally by this world of suspense, waiting for the next thrilling toy? Any day, some new discovery of a process of invention, one which came to the inventor ex nihilo (from nowhere), will come down. Like the computer, it will totally change life again.
But, we Bible believers need to guard our minds as this age of startling discoveries accelerates. We can become seduced by the same thing the men on Mars Hill looked for:
Acts 17:21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
The strangers were not local residents. This word implies that Mars Hill was the place to go if you were a philosopher visiting Athens. New things were flowing into this place from all over the known world. It was like a modern technology trade show.
These people were all bonding to one another for the buzz they got out of new things. They did "nthing else." That is extreme. It is also what we now call an addiction. And, it is all about BONDING. They clung to one another constantly dredging up from their minds and associations, "some new thing."
Are you addicted to finding news things? This IS a modern addiction, especially with social media and the Internet. It does not have to be porn or something inherently evil. It can just be the lust to see and experience new things for the sheer amusement of it. You are thus BONDING with the Internet and the world of surprises. And, you are disassociating with the people around you.

So, back to unpredicability and the future as God delivers it to us.
How can we be sure that we are addicted to something that will build up our lives to the glory of God?
Philippians
2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being
in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made
himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made
in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled
himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore
God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and
things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
What mind was in Jesus Christ? The text says.....
1. Make yourself of no reputation- This is done by becoming part of the Body of Christ where your only reputation is that youo love Christ and his people.
2. Become a servant- This is about doing things to help other Christians deal with life issues. Do you need to RECONNECT with the people of God?
3. Humble yourself- This means you will not exalt yourself in any way above ordinary people of God.
4. He became obedient unto death- For you, this means to live life until it is over doing points 1 through 3.
So, what does this have to do with addiction to new things, especially new technology? Do you have a Smart Phone? Do you sit poking at it, playing games, surfing the web for thrills while there are other people around you? If so, you are addicted to technology, and you are BONDING to things, not people.
Do you have 3000 friends on Facebook? What is the point of this? Who are these people to you?
Answer: These are people you imagine are reading your words of wit and worthless blather, bluster, and bull. You are addicted to Facebook. The god of technology has your worship. All you have to show for is thousands of "likes" and terndy "Comments" you made under people's posts.
When we become addicted to stuff instead of finding fellowship and friendship with real people in real time, we do not have the mind of Christ.
God has good things for you, things you cannot see coming. And, God is rather unpredictable for his own reasons. He will also allow trouble and tribulation. He is bringing you new things to experience on his terms which will enrich your life. So, if the next technology is what you crave, do not be surprized to soon find that God seems far away from you.
The world knows how to market new things. They do it in ways that cause you to crave the new toys, and it works. And, the world does not care if you are neglecting Christian friends, your spouse, and your kids.
Hebrews
10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some
is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
This verse is not talking about being at every schedlued meeting at the church house. This is talking about finding other Christians and spending time with them. This is one of the most serious defects in modern Christianity. People do all their assembling at a church building, and their homes become very private and void of the joy of Christian fellowship.
Pastor, does your church need to recover from disassociation? Come on now..... stop waffling around. All the jolly chatter in the church foyer after services is NOT the real thing. The real thing, real assembling, is when two men from your church make time to meet for coffee during the week. Real assembling is when YOU make time for your church family to visit you IN YOUR HOME. If your home is off limits to your church family, you are a sick man, sir. You are the problem. You are destroying the assembling of the saints by making sure they do not bother you and dirty your carpet. That also tells me you are very likely addicted to technology in some way.
The church I pastored in Michigan met Sunday morning as usual. But, we brought the noon meal with us, and we ate together every Sunday. We had our "evening service" at about 2 PM, and this let people go home to have the whole evening to visit one another. Many did exactly that. Some also visited other small churches in the area in order to be an encouragement to them. You see, pastor, I have never been terrified to let my people go visit another church. Only a lecher slob preacher is threatened by his people visiting another church which is like faith and practice. Those people are just as saved as you are.
Also, while at this church for twelve years, we had friends, some of them from other churches, who were addicted to our picnic table and our dining room table between Sundays. They seemed to crave friendship with us because we had one mind in Christ. That is what is called, "The normal Christian life."
