TWO STORIES-- TWO SPIRITS

I received both of these stories on the same day.
I want you to read both, and notice the clear difference.
Each story has its roots in Pensacola, Florida.
One event was the result of devils, the other of the Holy Spirit.
Can you figure out which is which?

Subject: Teens leaving revival @ Citgo Station

Hey you guys,

Many of you may have already heard that tape going around called REVIVAL FIRE. It was made by one of the youth who came to the Brownsville Revival in Spring Break. In that tape you hear about photos of these kids being hit by the power of God at a Citgo gas station. The father of one of the boys sent me this testimony. I have all the photos online if any want to see them. It takes about 2 minutes to load but they are awesome. Wish I had been there to take them!

TEENS OVERCOME BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AT CITGO STATION

On March 29th 1998, we left Pensacola in two fifteen passenger vans, heading home to Tulsa, Oklahoma. We had just spent Spring Break at the Brownsville Revival. Except for six adults, all the passengers were teens. God had mightily touched every one of them.

The kids arose every morning to get in line at the revival at 5:00a.m. They were all so hungry for God. A large number of them had been praying every Friday night for revival in their schools for about two years.

Driving home that night of the 29th, we got a call on our walkie talkie from van # 2. they said God had fallen in their van and they wanted to pull over and pray for the other van. We could hear them praying in the background. Van # 1 pulled off the interstate at the Clarksville Arkansas exit. We pulled into a Citgo Gas Station.

We pulled up at Citgo in front of the door. Van # 2 leaped out and flung open the doors of van # 1, laying hands on everyone. The Holy Spirit fell on them!

It was amazing! They began to weep, shake and tremble and fall on the ground. In 5 or 6 minutes they were all over the parking lot of Citgo. Some of them out cold on the pavement. This went on for 2 hours and 45 minutes. They repented, danced and shouted. Someone driving by called the police. The police came. They talked to the manager of the Citgo and he said "I'm not going to mess with the man upstairs, they can stay as long as they want, I was skeptical at first but now I can see "this is God!"

People driving up to get gas got nervous not knowing what was happening. Some of the kids witnessed to them. Before we left that night we all went into the station and laid hands on the Citgo manager. He said "I'll never be the same again". He said he could "see" Jesus in the kids eyes, they were all so full of love.

Most of these teens still have their fire and commitment to Christ. They are growing in him everyday. One of the girls gave a revival video to her principal to view and got permission to show it in the cafeteria. She showed an altar call with Charity singing, quickly stopped the video and gave a powerful altar call herself. The 30 kids there, at the public school came forward to repent and give their lives to Christ.

We are continuing to bring van loads of teens to the revival because of the wonderful fruit in their lives.

Thank you all, In Him!

GAS STATION TWO

Art Barton lived in Pensacola, Florida.  He was serving in Bible Baptist Church.

Art loves the Lord, and he is very persistent and zealous to talk of Christ to anyone he can.  Saturday evening, Art's partner in the carpet cleaning trade called him.  Art had the work van at his home, and there was $12 in the van, and Art's partner asked him to go around to the gas station and fill the tank.  Everyone in town was doing this because hurricane Georges was bearing down on them, and if the power went out they would not be able to buy gas.

Art agreed, and he jumped in the van and headed for the local gas station.  When he got there, and when he started to fill the gas tank, he realized the gas pump meter was barely creeping along.  Art had heard that this happened after a gas station allowed the tanks to run completely dry and then refilled them. The pumps seem to take some time to get a good prime.

So, Art settled in for a long wait.  He jammed the gas cap into the space where the handle is, and stood back.  He said the meter was just creeping along, and it seemed like a pointless way to spend the evening.

Well, across the other side of the island, two ladies, one Black and the other White, were watching his little trick.  The young Black lady asked Art if he would show her how to do the trick.  He went over and put her gas cap into the handle, and then the other lady asked him to do hers. He did so.

Upon returning, he realized he would have time to start a short witness with the Black lady, so he started his usual friendly but blunt way of asking folks if they were ready to go be with the Lord if they should die right away.  With a hurricane soon coming ashore, this would seem to be a fair concern.

Art said the Black lady got very interested, and she wanted to hear more.  Art witnessed to her for quite a while, and he could see she was being convicted by the Holy Spirit.  He finally remembered the gas running, and he checked his pump.  $7.50 only.  He had about $4.50 worth of time left to renew the witness with the Black lady.

Art went back to her, and she was so eager to hear more that she pulled the cap out of the handle of the filler nozzle, and she told Art to tell her more.  Art talked about the Lord and about believing on purpose and by faith without works.  He said the lady really showed she was being moved by the Holy Spirit.

Finally, the tank on the van topped off, and Art had to go inside and pay up.  The Black lady did so also,  Art paid and asked the lady to wait outside-- he had something else to tell her.  Well, after they both paid, Art really dug in with the Gospel and pressed the lady for the verdict.  He also asked her to drive over to the curb of the street to get out of the way.

Art said the Black lady eagerly listened, and when Art asked her if she wanted to pray to received Christ as her Savior, the lady kneeled down in the street and began to weep and cry out to God.

Art said after she got up she was really changed, rejoicing, and eager to do the next thing for the Lord.  Art took her name, and his wife is going to contact the lady and help her start growing and find a church.

The Black lady was 19 years old with three children-- the oldest is six years old.  Now, friends, there was something very special happening at that gas station, and that lady did not need a man to carelessly lay hands on her again as some others had.  She did not need to roll around the filthy apron of the gas station and spoil hers clothes.  She did not need to run in circles and play the fool. She needed to repent and be converted-- AND she was.

1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Proverbs 14:16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil:
but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Proverbs 13:16 Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge:
but a fool layeth open his folly.

Proverbs 1:22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?
and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Exodus 32:6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered
burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat
down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
