DROPPING
THE BOMB |
Comment by Steve Van Nattan-- We have received information from a source in Canada on the Manifest Sons of God which ties all sorts of evil groups together. The implications are that the Vatican, the Branhamites, the Colorado Prayer Coalition, the Canadian Government, and many more entities have streamed together in preparation of conquest. Who is to be conquered is not entirely clear, but Bill Britton of Missouri long ago in the 1950s said that those who will not "enter beyond the veil" will be killed by the Manifest Sons of God, and he said they would enjoy themselves immensely. I have read his words in his book for myself. We thus drop the bomb and expose them. |
.....for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. Matt. 10:26.
IS THE WORLD PRAYER CENTER AT COLORADO SPRINGS OF GOD OR IS IT ANOTHER SCHEME OF SATAN?
Colorado Springs, Colorado is the home of a 55,000 square foot, 5.5 million dollar World Prayer Center and is estimated to involve 50 million people in 120 countries around the world. http://www.texnews.com/1998/1999/religion/pray0130.html
It was founded in September of 1998 by C. Peter Wagner, President of Global Harvest Ministries, and Ted Haggard pastor of New Life Church. New Life Church sits on a hill adjacent to the World Prayer Center but Global Harvest Ministries, the Wagner Institute for Practical Ministry and the Christian Information Center are situated within the Prayer Center itself.
The organization claims that electronic telecommunications were invented for the purpose of distributing important information to Christians throughout the world. The prayer center is also linked to other national prayer networks. Each national network center represents a nation and is in constant contact, by a computer system, with its designated country. A participating nation, reports to the National Prayer Network and the National Prayer Network reports to the World Prayer Center which in turn reports to its President, C. Peter Wagner. Wagner calls it a human network and of course he is the main coordinator of all activities.
Although co-founded with Ted Haggard, C. Peter Wagner, as president and commander-in-chief, gives the impression that the prayer center is his. Charisma News Service seemed to thinks so too.
In their February 16, 2000 issue, speaking of C. Peter Wagner, they refer to the world prayer center as his center.
"Evangelism in the 10/40 window is at an all-time high following years of sustained prayer, he says in Global Prayer News, the newsletter from his World Prayer Center."http://www.charismanews.com/news.cgi?a=259&t=search.html
Haggard and Wagner each claim they were called to play a strategic role within the center. My review of this center, and the people involved with its substructures, brought me to the conclusion that it is based more on occult New Age thought than Biblical thought. They declare, the center is a trans-demoninational effort. This is the exact spelling from their site trans-demoninational. Are they revealing something here? Is it a demon organization that transcends the globe? Check it out their Internet site is found at www.wpccs.org/about_us.cfm . If this information has been changed others can vouch that it was indeed on the Internet as I report it here. This site also contains a picture of the World Prayer Center.
I am going to be examining the following aspects of the World Prayer Center.
It's world prayer concept
It's occult location
It's founder's Manifest Sons of God connection.
It's New Age language
It's Network structure
WPC'S WORLD PRAYER CONCEPT
Why do we need a World Prayer Center? Jesus taught us about prayer and one thing he taught was that where two or three are gathered together, he would be there also. Note that he did not say two or three thousand. In contrast, it is the New Agers who hold vigils of thousands to bring in the power, the light of a thousand points. As Jesus faced a gruesome death, he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane taking with him only three sleepy people to keep watch. He could have gathered thousands for a prayer meeting but chose instead to pray in private. And what did he pray? "nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt." He asked his Father to let the cup pass if it were possible, but he subjected himself to his Father's will. He did not present His own strategic plan to his Father but submitted, was crucified and became the supreme sacrifice for our sins.
Unlike our humble Lord, the prayer center boasts that it promotes strategic and effective prayer to defeat the enemy. They think they can teach power prayer. They have formulas for prayer and intercession that can be found in their numerous books on praying with power. I soundly reject the idea that God has strategic ways to pray that he, absent mindedly, forgot to mention in His Holy Bible. I was once startled when one of these strategists suggested that I would be more effective in my prayers if I prayed according to their established formula. The Bible teaches us in Romans 8:26,
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
The Bible clearly states that we don't know how to pray but the Holy Spirit intercedes for us to make our prayers acceptable and effective. My prayers, your prayers, are effective according to the Holy Spirit without any help from the prayer strategists. Furthermore, Christ taught us to pray in accordance with the Lord's Prayer addressing God as our Father, who sits on a heavenly throne, with praise, looking forward to the coming kingdom of Christ, according to God's will, to provide our daily needs, asking for forgiveness, willing to forgive, to keep us from temptation, deliver us from Satan's schemes, and acknowledging that God is the sovereign ruler, is all powerful and deserving of all glory forever.
In addition, we should pray about our own concerns, about the concerns of fellow Christians and for future converts, as Jesus himself prayed in John chapter 17. Jesus covered the important elements of prayer. What other strategies do we need? In contrast, the prayer center has a world goal designed to answer national-based prayers rather than individual ones. http://www.texnews.com/1998/1999/religion/pray0130.html
Satan likes to imitate God's Kingdom. Is the World Prayer Center Satans effort to set up a new version of Jerusalem: the antithesis of the mountain of God with all nations coming there to pray? Look at Isaiah 2:2-3 and tell me if the Bible says Zion/Jerusalem or does it say, Colorado Springs?
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lords house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Is the prayer center a new occult mountain of God? Does it have a new house of God, the house of World Prayer Leaders, Mike and Cindy Jacobs? Does it have a new theology? Are all nations flowing to it through a cover called a prayer network? Is this network a means of bringing all churches together under the command of one organization and ultimately one man? These questions need to be addressed. I hope to illustrate that the World Prayer Center and it's satellites indeed are apostate worldly organizations that deny the power of our Lord, Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. That they present, under the self-serving leadership of C. Peter Wagner, their own human conceived strategies that oppose the truth found in the Word of God. That they, in fact, distort scripture and oppose Gods will with their own saying, "not thy will but my own will be done."
Why did they locate in Colorado? Would God put a world prayer center in a relatively unpopulated area that is high in the US mountains? Would God control the body of Christ from the United States? Jerusalem, is the city of David; it is the home of God's Temple; it is, a hub of many cultures; and it is the ruling place of the 1000 year reign. So why would God want everyone interconnected to Colorado Springs? I suspect the prayer center was deliberately set among the highest mountains in the United States for occult reasons and is a vehicle to bring churches into a one world church.
Colorado Springs sets in a semicircle of some of the highest mountains in mainland United States. On the west lie the mountains and on the east it faces the rising sun. No where else in the US could one find such a place. I do not believe the World Prayer Center came here by accident. I am reminded of the high places in the books of Kings. Is Colorado Springs a high place? I checked a relief map of the United States and indeed it is. Only one mountain, Mt. Whitney, in California is higher, being sixty-one feet higher, than Mt. Elbert in Colorado. Colorado Springs is flanked by some of the loftiest peaks in the US. On the south is Blanca Peak at 14,317 ft., on the southwest is Mt. Wilson at 14,246 ft., on the west is Pikes Peak at 14,110 ft. and on the northwest is Mt. Elbert at 14,431 ft., Mt. Elbert is, as stated, the second highest mountain on the mainland of the United States.
What is so significant about high places? Biblical high places are idolatrous places and are a sign of rebellion against God. High places were introduced to the Children of Israel after the reign of Solomon. After Solomon died the kingdom fell into the hands of Solomon's rebellious son, Rehoboam. Under his leadership the kingdom was divided. The people pleaded with him to lessen the burdens that had been imposed on them by his father Solomon. Rehoboam sought the advice of his elders but rejected it and listened to his contemporaries who told him what he wanted to hear. They counseled him recommending that he tell the people that he would not lessen their burdens but would increase them and increase their punishment as well. As a result, all of the tribes except Judah left the kingdom of David and followed Jeroboam, making him their king over Israel.
Jeroboam, the new King of Israel, was also very rebellious. He feared that his people would again unite with Judah if they went up to Jerusalem and sacrificed to the Lord. To prevent a reunification he conceived of a plan to set up false gods and in doing so, not only rebelled against Judah, but rebelled against God himself. He made two golden calves and put one up at Bethel and one at Dan. He also built shrines at high places and placed the scum of Israel there to become idolatrous priests.
After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places. And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth. I Kings 13:33-34.
God sent Jeroboam warnings to repent but he ignored all of them. Similarly, the reign of Rehoboam, the king of Judah also brought in the high places as places of idol worship.
For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree. I Kings 14: 23.
In Judah, idols were destroyed at various times but the hardest place in which to get rid of idols seemed to be in the high places. I surveyed the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah that followed King Solomon, as listed in the books of Kings, and none of the kings of Israel removed the high places. Of the kings of Judah, only two kings removed the high places: King Hezekiah and King Josiah. Even Godly kings were unable to tear down the high places. Referring to Azariah, King of Judah, II Kings 15: 3-4 tells us,
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done; Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.
Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, did remove the high places (II Chronicles 17:6) but the people set them up again and he was not successful in getting rid of them a second time (II Chronicles 20:33. High places are significant in Satans schemes against God as seen in the Tower of Babel, the Egyptian pyramids and in the high places. So I ask again why would a Christian prayer center be placed in a high place in the United States? Could the answer be that they serve another god with his Jerusalem in Colorado Springs? God says there is only one mountain that he wants to dwell in: Mount Zion.
Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever. Psalms 68:16
For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest forever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. Psalms 132:13-14.
The Lord only dwells in one mountain: Mount Zion and in one mountain city: Jerusalem. Jerusalem is God's high place! God objects to copy cat gods and copy cat mountains with copy cat cities. God has chosen his mountain and his city. So be it!
A high place alone may be weak evidence you say? Let's look further at the physical characteristics at Colorado Springs. It is home to a park called, Garden of the Gods. The Garden of the Gods was donated to the city in 1909, to be used as a park, by Charles Perkins, President of the Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad. He left instructions with his family that after his death a 1,340 acre piece of land he owned was to be given to the city of Colorado Springs for a park, on the condition that it would be known as Garden Of The Gods and that it would remain free to visitors. You may view the Garden of the Gods and read about Mr. Perkins at http://www7.concentric.net/~gshrieve/ggods.htm . Christians do not believe in many gods; therefore, I can only conclude that Garden of the Gods is an occult name. The city of Colorado Springs agreed to use this name and in doing so they entered into an occult contract in 1907 to gain a piece of property which became a big tourist attraction.
Another interesting landmark is a man made shrine called Shrine Of The Sun located on Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. It was supposedly erected in honor of Will Rogers. Will Rogers lived in Oklahoma and died in Alaska in a plane crash in 1935. I wasn't able to make any connection with Will Rogers and Colorado Springs. To view a post card with a picture of this shrine go to http://www.archieves.state.co.us/tour/pccs5.htm .
None of this, of course is the fault of the World Prayer Center but it was their choice to locate in a city which is in a very high place, faces the rising sun in to east, is circled on the west by high peaks, has a garden of the gods and a shrine of the sun. Did they go there to convert pagans? No, they claim to be living among the most enlightened Christians of America gathering the nations together, via their computer system, to defeat the enemy by strategies and prayer. Their is no paganism there!
The people involved in the prayer center defend their location by claiming they have spiritually mapped the occult places at Colorado Springs, have confronted the spirits, and defeated the enemy rendering him powerless. What is spiritual mapping and confronting the spirits that these people speak of? C. Peter Wagner explains how this works in his book Confronting The Power. He maintains that spiritual mapping is a strategy for defeating the enemy. Spiritual mapping allows them to see what geographical territory a demonic spirit governs. It is an implement of intercession as Wagner explains on page 236 of his book, "What an x-ray is to a surgeon, spiritual mapping is to an intercessor."
They learn a spirits name and his territory through revelation and then spiritually destroy his power over that area by confronting him, binding him and making declarations using his name. Thus, they claim to have taken over control of the area and the situation surrounding it. Their various sub-organizations such as the Eagles, send their people all over the world to spiritually map and pray over certain areas to defeat the geographical spiritual ruler. They also have teams that go into cities to teach people how to do this within their own city. Wagner has delegated George Otis Jr. to be the leader of their spiritual mapping program. He may appear with his team in your city to spiritually map it out! Be warned, he has already been in my city and has trained people here taking up their valuable time in this activity distracting them from serving God. www.ad2000.org/gcowe95/prayer.html
I question the Biblical basis for confronting spiritual powers and spiritual mapping. If powers means Satan and his demons, we are told emphatically in the Bible NOT CONFRONT HEAVENLY BEINGS! Jude talks about confronting Satan. He reminds us of the angels who kept not their first estate. They stuck their noses in where they didnt belong and now they are reserved under darkness for judgment. Likewise, we can't go around changing God's policies and rearranging his prophecies. We must keep our own estate, specifically, stick to cleaning up our own house and put it in order before Christ's return so we will be raptured before the wrath of God and the judgment of Satan and his evil army. We don't have time to waste trying to out wit Satan! Jude goes on to teach us not to confront spirits. Confronting is a militant word with connotations of facing with hostility or defiance. It means the same as railing in the following passage.
Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Jude 8-10.Jude says these ungodly men are dreamers who despise dominion: they don'T like to keep their place! They speak evil of dignities by speaking against the teaching of the Saints found in the New Testament. He continues to relate that even Michael kept his place and didn't rail against Satan but simply said, "The Lord rebuke thee." He goes on, "they speak of things they know not." It is out of ignorance and by their base nature (brute beasts) that they say these things and contrive schemes. Notice Michael said, "The Lord rebuke thee." He didn't bow down to Satan but he wisely kept his place. It is a matter of how a situation is handled. We can be rebukers of Satan in the Lords name or we can be ungodly railers and confronters! Wagner chooses to confront and the Bible condemns such actions.
Another example of not confronting Satan was our Lord Jesus Christ before his crucifixion and ascension. Jesus went through temptation as a man just as you and I do; he was tempted for forty days and forty nights (Matt: 4). Did he confront Satan and say, "you dirty trickster you can't tempt Me the only Son of God."? Did he rail against Satan? No, he quoted scripture and said, "Get thee hence, Satan; for it is written".
Further, Revelation 2:13 tells us that the church in Pergamos dwelled "even where Satan's seat is". Did Jesus advise them to spiritually map the area and call up Satan by name and strategically render him powerless? No, he told them, in effect, to get their armor of God on and "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth," (Ephesian 6:14). He advised them to get with the truth and get rid of the doctrine of Balaam that would bring them down.
Notice in the above passage how there is no instruction to confront Satan and bring down his throne at Pergamos but, rather, instructions to get their own house in order. II Corinthians 10: 4-6 also teaches that we over come only by cleaning up our own act. This passage is referring specifically to spiritual warfare.
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
We are to cast down our vain imaginations, take our every thought captive in obedience to Christ, and be ready to revenge disobedience. Once again spiritual warfare is focused on refining us, not Satan. Christ Himself will take care of Satan not the Manifest Sons Of God or the World Prayer Center. Jesus was designated by God to defeat Satan. Our job is to be ready when the Lord returns. Wagner projects a philosophy in which ancient paths and his religious army will perfect man and the church. These spiritual warriors will defeat Satan and hand Christ a perfected corporate church and a changed world at his return. This philosophy denies that Christ alone is the conquer. That he will come back to an evil world (Matt. 24:22) and destroy it along with Satan who leads an evil army (Rev. 19:19-21).
Some of you may say, Yes, but Jesus cast out devils and the disciples cast out devils so why not take authority over territorial demons? True enough Jesus cast demons out of people not hills and dominions. We have jurisdiction over our bodies and we don't have to put up with devils living in them. But devils will only stay away if we refine our selves according to II Corinthians 10:4 -6. What happens if we don't?
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh unto him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of the man is worse than the first. Luke 11: 24-26.
These are the words of Jesus himself. Demons have rights and they know it. If one doesnt take themselves captive for Jesus Christ, he will hear the demons echo, I will be back! The same is true for places that have been spiritually mapped, if indeed evil spirits do have territories. The demons will just gather more powerful demons and together they will go back to their garden of the gods and shrines of the sun. My question to the Colorado Springs group is, if their spiritual mapping was successful, why is there still a Garden of the Gods, and why does the city still remain bound to this occult contract and why does the shrine to the sun still stand? They are still intact to witness their occult messages to all the tourists who visit them! I repeat II Kings 15:4 "the high places were not removed." In my opinion, spiritual mapping is not a valid excuse for locating the copy cat World Prayer Center in its occult location at Colorado Springs.
God often confronted rebellious people in the Bible. Are C. Peter Wagner's Colorado groups like the rebellious ones of Isaiah 65:2-7? Verse one tells of the true Christians that "sought him when he sought them not." Verse two begins an address to the rebellious ones.
Isaiah 65:2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,
7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.Letï's see how they measured up: They have spiritually mapped places according to their own thoughts and imagination. They live in a high place that mirrors Jerusalem that has a garden of the gods which is a mockery of the Garden of Gethsemane and a monument to the sun. And they have insights beyond the Bible (which I will deal with later), rendering them "holier than thou." Do you think they qualify as rebellious ones?
WPC FOUNDERS AND THE MANIFEST SONS OF GOD CONNECTION
One doesnt have to go far to establish a connection with the World Prayer Center and the Manifest Sons of God. (From here on I will consider the World Prayer Center groups to be identified with the Manifest Sons of God.) The World Prayer Center events calendars connect them together with common goals. In January of 1999, the National School of The Prophets held their conference at the World Prayer Center. Guest speakers included: Chuck Pierce, Cindy Jacobs, Bill Hamon, Dutch Sheets, Rick Joyner, Kingsley Fletcher, Mike Bickle, Jim Lafoon, Barbara Wentroble, Ted Haggard and Paul Cain. The worship leaders were David Morris and John Dickson. The Convener was C. Peter Wagner. http://www.prophetic.net/glory.htm
In May of 2000 the National School of Prophets met again in the World Prayer Center. They were sponsored by the Global Harvest Ministries. C. Peter Wagner was the convener and speakers were: Mike Bickle, Chuck Pierce, Jack Deere, Kinsley Fletcher, Barbara Yoder and Rick Joyner was invited but at this time it is unknown if he spoke. http://www.elijahlist.com/conferences082599.htm
As you can see, the invited guests at their conferences include well known Manifest Sons Of God such as Paul Cain, Rick Joyner, Mike Bickell and Jack Deere. World Prayer Center cofounder Ted Haggard is also connected to the Manifest Sons of God. From the information found on their biography web page, I am going to give you a very brief sketch of Haggard. He is much younger than C. Peter Wagner and I am persuaded that he is being groomed to take over Wagner;s leadership role one day. I do believe he does have a strategic role, now just as they claim, but my main focus is going to be on the seasoned C. Peter Wagner because for now at least, it is his center.
Ted Haggard, pastor of the nearby New Life Church, controls the Christian Information Center. Haggard graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1978. (Oral Roberts has been identified as belonging to the Manifest Sons Of God group). Haggard served as Vice President of World Missions for Jesus, was a youth pastor at Bethany World Prayer Center and helped in the founding of the Bethany Family Counseling Center. Bethany World Prayer Center sponsored him to come to Colorado Springs in 1984. In 1985 he started the New Life Church that is located near the World Prayer Center.
His church has 6,000 members and he has been asked by other churches to help them reorganize their own church governments. (That, I feel, is his most strategic duty at the present.) He presently serves on the board of the National Association of Evangelicals, Global Harvest Ministries, Every Home for Christ and the Center for Christian-Jewish Dialogue. He has written a book titled Primary Purpose and co-authored Loving Your City Into The Kingdom with Jack Hayford. Haggard also edited Discovering Ancient Wisdom for the International Bible Society. As can easily be seen by his credentials, Ted was well trained for his task to inherit the World Prayer Center one day. Ted Haggard's biography is at http://www.wpccs.org/about_us_director_bios.cfm
Where did C. Peter Wagner come from, what are his grassroots? Wagner served as a missionary to Bolivia from 1956-1971. He must have been a very studious missionary because during this time he also earned in 1962, a Th.M. at Princeton Theological Seminary and in 1968 he was awarded a M. A. from Fuller Seminary of School of World Mission. In 1971, after leaving Bolivia, he became a professor of Church Growth at Fuller Theological Seminary School of World Missions and taught at Fuller for a total of 28 years. Church growth became his chief focus. He wanted to know what factors brought about church growth. Church growth is equivalent to success in the minds of many North Americans and C. Peter Wagner wanted to be a success.
In 1982, while at Fuller Seminary, Wagner enlisted the help of John Wimber, founder of the Vineyard Church at Anahiem, California and father of the subsequent Vineyard Movement. Wagner and Wimber co-taught the MC510 course called, Signs, Wonders, and Church Growth. His friendship with John Wimber connected Wagner directly to the Manifest Sons of God Movement, or maybe it would be better said, that Wagner connected Wimber to the movement. It is hard to tell which came first the chicken or the egg. At any rate they were in it together. It was at this time that Wagner introduced his phrase the Third Wave of the church. Wagner considered the first wave to be the Pentecostal movement, the second wave was the charismatic trend and now he taught the church in the third wave.
The third wave he asserts, moves in manifestations and with power. Power is really what they were seeking; manifestations were just a means of arriving at power. Wagner wrote a book called, The Third Wave of the Holy Spirit to promote his ideas. This concept also included actively promoting unity in the churches. The driving force behind Wagner was church growth and to think big he had to think unity regardless of its cost. In this pursuit doctrine no longer would assume first place. The Bible, in the third wave, began to lose credibility as the final sovereign Word of God. It slipped in position, giving way to a new anointing; another manifested revelation other than that already given by God in the Bible.
The name of the course, Signs and Wonders and Church Growth, suggests that signs and wonders equal church growth. Wagner sought to find a formula for church growth and during his missionary years he observed that whenever signs and wonders appeared in Bolivia, church growth rapidly increased. Wagner, being a practical man, decided to incorporate manifestations in his church growth agenda.
In their class, Wimber and Wagner, began to include demonstrations of signs and wonders that are now associated with the Manifest Sons Of God. Their techniques were perfected amid their students, the future pastors of America. They set aside certain times to just practice their signs and wonders skills and techniques with the students. Students were also encouraged to share and display their own abilities. Wimber's Vineyard Church was five years old at the start of this course and it soon became another outlet to test Wagner's theories. Did manifestations in the Vineyard Church cause it to grow quickly? Yes, it did and soon other Vineyard churches followed suit. Signs and wonders swept across the continent of North American.
It traveled to the Kansas City Fellowship in Kansas City, Missouri; to John Arnott's Toronto Vineyard church near the Toronto Airport; to the New Life Vineyard Fellowship in Kelowna, British Columbia via Wes Campbell; to the Brownsville Assembly of God pastored by James Kilpatrick located near Pensacola; and to various other places. It spread like wild fire. Indeed their slogan is catch the fire! This year Rodney Browne, who came here from South Africa, seeking signs and wonders, is taking this fire to the Inuit Peoples of the Northwest Territories. If my memory serves me correctly, this will be in co-operation with Women's Aglow who are networked directly into the World Prayer Center. Bobbye Byerly, former president of the US Aglow International, left that position and came to Colorado Springs to accept the position of Director of Prayer Development and Intercession. Other people in Wagners organization also are linked to the Aglow organization.
Wagner and Wimber also experimented with healing, deliverances and words of knowledge, incorporating them into church agendas. Healing, deliverance and a word of knowledge are all Biblical; it is their perverted, occult application that bring them into suspect. I am only going to touch on words of knowledge because it relates the most to today's spread of this phenomena. Everyone seems to be trying to get an edge on the future. They sense the end is near and they want to know what is going to happen to them next. Most of these people are sincere and want to know what God has in store for them so they can walk in his will. They forget we are to walk in faith and the Bible tells us how to walk in God's will.
Christians are taught that it is wrong to seek out fortune tellers so a new name was found for this phenomenon. These deceivers reasoned, the Bible mentions word of knowledge so let's go with that. And they did. People are seeking an occult word from these gurus often traveling across the country to learn, supposedly, what God's destiny is in their life. Often these words are recorded on audio tapes and distributed to the one prophesied over. I have one of his tapes with a prophecy on it (It is not a prophecy for me. I was not even at this conference). The bottom of the label makes the following statement: Prophecies are conditional.
They require faith and obedience on our part. If the prophecy does not come true it is the fault of the person prophesied to. They absolve themselves of any responsibility. What are the results of these prophesies? Enlightenment? A better understanding of God's will? No, it brings devastation to peoples lives as they try to live out these false prophesies. When things don't work out do they repent and return to the Word? Often not, they simply seek another (or two or three or more) word of knowledge from another guru. Some become so defensive they accuse anyone who tries to reason with them of putting a curse on them. We live in a society of people who are looking for someone else to place the blame on, never accepting responsibility for their own life.
One of the gifts of I Corinthians 12:8 is a word of knowledge: so what's the big deal? It's this: Peter taught that a word of knowledge is not about our personal future.
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scriptures is of any private interpretation." II Peter 1:20.
Old Testament prophecy dealt with two things: wickedness and idolatry. Why would prophecy in our day change direction and become foreknowledge of our own future? Are we not asked to live in faith? Most words of knowledge spoken over by these Manifest Sons of God, are of a personal nature. If these prophecies don't come from God, where do they come from? I suspect they come from the same occult pool of evil spirits the fortune tellers get their information from. In Acts 16:16, Paul cast an evil spirit out of a young lady that practiced divination. She brought her masters much money. Divination still brings much money to these Manifest Sons Of God ministries.
Colorado plays a central, almost mystical, role in regard to the Manifest Sons Of God. John Wimber, Wagner's colleague, was connected to Colorado in the early years of his Manifest Sons Of God conversion. He sought after God to give him a word of knowledge and received one from Colorado that locked into place, once and for all, his new belief system. His wife Carol, tells about it in her book A Hunger For God.
"John wasn't as happy as I. He had never seen large numbers of people sprawled out over the floor. He spent that night reading scripture and historical accounts of revival from the lives of people like Whitefield and Wesley. But, his study did not yield the conclusive answers to questions raised from the previous evenings events. By 5 am, John was desperate, he cried out to God, "Lord, if this is you please tell me." A moment later the phone rang and a pastor friend of ours from Denver, Colorado was on the line. "John," he said, "I'm sorry I'm calling so early, but I have something really strange to tell you. I don't know what it means, but God wants me to say, "It's me, John." (Quoted from Bill Randles book Weighed and Found Wanting)
Notice
(1) the Manifest Sons Of God friend spoke for God as a prophet, "God wants me to sayï" and
(2) the word came from a pastor friend in Colorado. Under the subtitle The Sixties at the following site, http://www.balaams-ass.com/journal/resource/wcctopk.htm appears a paragraph that further connects Colorado with the Manifest Sons of God.
"60s: MANIFEST SONS. Even though William Branham's Manifest Sons of God movement had earlier been rejected, the root had not been destroyed. All during the time that ecumenism was building, the root remained alive, eventually breaking ground in the late sixties in the Home Circuit churches in Colorado. The movement also bore a new name - the Manchild Company. The expectation of the members of the Manchild Company was for the manifestation of the spiritual Manchild of Revelation 12, a group of people who would BE the corporate Christ, God's delegated authority on the earth. They believed that as each church submitted to his authority, God would overthrow the governments of the world and establish His millennial reign."
The roots of the Manifest Sons Of God remained alive and reappeared in the late sixties in Colorado! Where did Carol and John Wimber's pastor friend live? In Colorado!
The Manifest Sons Of God are able to go underground and re-emerge through their system of apostleship. Wagner sees himself as an apostle and in this role, he is The Apostle over the entire World Prayer Center. Officially he is head apostle over The Apostolic Council of Apostles and Elders. He favors a return to the five fold ministries of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher. Of course the apostle is at the head of this hierarchical structure. The prophets are next; it is a way to delegate power.
They claim this is according to the early church structure. My problem with this is: I question the use of the term apostle. Is Wagner talking about the order of government within the church or is he taking about the apostle as a personal apostle of Christ with Christ himself bodily present as the teacher; for example, as Jesus with the twelve apostles? I suspect the later is what he is referring to. Some modern day apostles have made the claim that they have had visitations from Christ himself (really a spirit guide)who gave them instructions telling them what pleased him and what didn't. I dont accept that Christ appears to anyone in our time because it weakens the deity of Christ and elevates man allowing him to add to God's word.
Christ gave us the Holy Spirit (not spirit guides) and left his final instructions in the book of Revelations. His last words were a warning to anyone who adds to God's word (Rev. 22:19). The belief that Jesus appears in person today to selected apostles and prophets, invalidates the Bible and leaves Christians open to all sorts of new things and new things are exactly what we are seeing.
So who does appear to these apostles? In Chuck Pierce's letter of April 2000 entitled, A New Day To Transfer Wealth For Harvest, http://www.glory-of-zion.org/newsletters_00.htm
Pierce defines apostle to mean "one sent to accomplish a mission." Who sent these apostles and what is their mission? New Agers long ago made known their plans to infiltrate the church with their home grown apostles with a mission to absorb the church into a one world New Age church. In addition, did you know that they also intended to take over government through the new world church? At the same site in the Letter of January 2000 Pierce gives a message from their Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders that was released by these elders on November 3, 1999. The head apostle of this group is C. Peter Wagner. Items C and D state,
"Government shakings: God is going to shake governments. Rulers will bow their knee to the Lord of Glory and dedicate their nations to the Lord Jesus Christ. The government of God's Kingdom will be established through the apostles and prophets [not Jesus Christ] laying the foundation for the church. We will begin to recognize the apostolic and prophetic authorities in cities and nations."
They expect to be functioning in this government capacity by October 2003 as they state in the same article under item 11.
"The church will be in a key transition period between 2000 and 2003. During this period the youth in particular will be transitioning into revival. It is especially important for the apostolic governments to be initially established and functioning in our cities by October 2003 if we are to see the transformations that God wants to release."
"The church will be in a key transitional period" This phrase sounds like it came right out of a New Age manual! They expect to bring governments to their knees within three years! How are they going to do this? Through the power and wealth they intend to gain through their network which I will look at in greater detail later. God does not indicate in the Bible that he will take over earthly government until Christ himself returns to establish God's government. This is similar to the Jews who rejected Christ because he did not take over the Roman government. God has a Divine Plan and man's plans will be for naught!
WPC'S NEW AGE LANGUAGE
Wagner and his followers cleverly use terms they borrow from the New Agers. Writers and speakers from Wagner's organizations reveal they are part of a paradigm shift-that is a shift away from traditional beliefs. Likewise, New Agers talk about a paradigm shift that will bring in a New Age of enlightenment. The Wagnerites also claim there is a shift from what we previously accepted to a new thing that God is doing. Tommy Tenney, who is connected to the World Prayer Center group, wrote a book called, The God Chasers. This book aptly illustrates the paradigm shift away from fundamentalism. In the introduction, Tenney says, "God chasers have a lot in common."
Primarily, they are not interested in camping out on some dusty truth known to everyone. They are after a fresh presence of the Almighty." This is quite a paradigm shift! Out with the Bible, in with the fresh presence of power, occult visions and fortune telling. Notice "dusty truth known to everyone." What Christian in his right mind would assume that everyone knows the truths of the Bible? If that were the case there would be no need to evangelize. Tenney certainly does steer away from the specific truths of the gospel. Tenney continues, "God chasers dont want to just study from moldy pages of what God has done: they are anxious to see what God is doing." God's Word is moldy pages from the past? Tenney is anxious to see what God is doing? Why doesn't he dust off his Bible that is moldy from disuse and read about what God is doing instead of pursuing some occult manifestation that he calls the fresh presence of God.
And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 9:3.
The title of this book The God Chasers is questionable in itself. When did God tell us to chase after him? On the contrary, He tells us to "Be still and know that I am God:" Psalms 46:10. In the twenty third Psalm, it says, "he leadth me beside the still waters." These words always remind me of the unchanging word of God. Did David chase after the Lord? No, he hid in caves from his enemies and said, "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:" (Psalms 37:7). Moses said, "stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord" (Exodus 14:13). Ephesians 6 tells us to stand clothed in the armor of God. In comparison, what does God say people really chase after? Job 13:25 says they chase after dry stubble; Isaiah 1:23 says, they chase after reward; and Hosea 2:7 says they chase after lovers. The chasers are portrayed in a dim light. He chooses those who wait patiently upon him. At http://www.pawcreek.org/god_chasers.htm Joseph Chambers reviews Tenneys book.
Instead of preaching salvation by the blood of Jesus Christ, Wagner advocates are more interested in digging into the Old Testament for passages that will lead them to the ancient paths! In the organizations G.I. News http://www.generals.org/news_page_4.htm they state, "In sharing on the role of apostolic and prophetic ministry, one gets the feeling of being on a similar trail-a fresh discovery of the ancient paths." It seems they want new things from ancient paths. Sorry guys, we have a new path called the New Covenant with Jesus Christ the Son of God that is fulfilled from our old (hopefully not dusty) Bibles. Another aspect of the paradigm shift, is a shift in these Manifest Sons Of God based organizations to become militant.
One wonders how far they are willing to go with their military agenda. Daniel speaks of a coming ruler who worships an new militant god, a god of forces. Joseph Thompson, assistant pastor of Ted Haggard's New Life Church says, the most common type of prayer request is for warfare prayer. He claims these prayers target spiritual forces that rule a country creating blindness. They liken their prayers to NORAD: (which can be seen from the World Prayer Center) they are an en masse air raid on evil. Has the god of forces already begun to make his presence known? Most people accept the ruler who worships the god of forces, to be the Anti-Christ. Do true Christians want to be associated with this false religion? Certainly not!
The paradigm shift includes a new vulgar, military language. They are a people that claim to be drunk in the spirit-not sober minded like God's people. They have a new wine anointing that makes them drunk in the spirit but God says he will cut off the new wine from their mouths,
Awake, ye drunkards and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth. (Joel 1:5).
They have an encounter with God-they don't meet with God. They have worldwide effective warfare prayers-not simple prayers made acceptable by the Holy Spirit. They build bridges that span the world-they don't preach the gospel according to Jesus Christ. They call their actions strategies-they are not actions of faith. They target the enemy-they don't take a stand against Satan's schemes. (The term enemy is a generic term that masks who their opponent really is.) They ascend to levels of favor-they aren't saved by the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are soldiers and generals-not servants of God. They follow Joel's army-they aren't led by the Holy Ghost.
It is wise to be cautious because their itinerary could unfold like this-They are a people drunk in the spirit giving their minds over to the god of forces; they pray with a warfare spirit; build bridges that span the world; and proceed with strategic plans to target the enemy. Their plans are carried out by generals and soldiers according to their levels of favor within Joel's army, and they fight in battles of spiritual warfare that will lead to civil war in the church in order to bring about forced unity. Finally, they have an encounter with God when he returns to earth a second time in the personage of His son Jesus Christ.
.....if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shallappoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matt. 24: 48-51.
Are the ones who say, they are drunk in the spirit and want to bring about a civil war to bring unity in the church, the fellow servants who smite fellow Christians? In Ezekiel 8:17 is a phrase and, lo, they put the branch to their nose. In this passage Ezekiel is speaking of Idolatry in the temple. I don't know exactly what the branch is referring to, but it brought this image to my mind: they thumbed their nose at the Branch and did their own idolatrous thing.
These unity among the churches fanatics and the New Agers both use the slogan, unity in diversity The New Agers tried to tell us that we could have unity in diversity and now the Manifest Sons Of God devotees are working very hard to convince people that all denominations, including the Roman Catholic Church, can have unity in diversity when they come together as one church. How gullible do they think we are? Unity and diversity are antonyms. If you have unity you no longer have diversity and if you have diversity you no longer have unity! The two shall never meet. When the world has a one world church they will no longer have diversity. Civil war will unify the religious world under a dictatorship of the god of forces. Be alert and avoid using any New Age language. It leads to deception.
The World Prayer Center has made a similar paradigm shift in its business structure. To readily understand the structure of the World Prayer Center, I am going to compare it to network marketing. Network marketing, a (New Age concept), and Wagner share a common language and a common corporate structure. In Wagner's literature, he speaks of being in the third wave, the wave of power. Network marketing also asserts that they are the third wave of business and eventually all business will be done as third wave network marketing companies. Go into any bookstore and look in the business section and you will find third wave books. It is considered to be a paradigm shift from traditional business.
I believe Wagner realized he needed a way to control his sprawling Third Wave organizations and network marketing seemed to serve as a suitable model. Wagner was practical in all that he did using whatever methods that worked, and the concept of a networking World Prayer Center met all of his organizational needs. From here computerization would give him every control he needed and prayer would be an acceptable vehicle to rally Christians and Christian organizations into his network. He dreamed that one day he would have all of the Christian World unified under his leadership. The World Prayer Center would function like a network marketing company, being very complex with all power and control flowing to the top. This ingenious plan would almost make the Pope envious.
The World Prayer Center is an incredible copy of this worldly network marketing program. It may be pictured by thinking of your family tree. Your grandparents could represent the network marketing company or the World Prayer Center. That set of grandparents would have children and their children would have children etc. Soon the family would go so deep and the generations would be so far apart that you wouldn't even know each other. How many of your fathers first cousins do you know? You can meet your relatives and never guess you are related way back somewhere. In the same manner, network marketing and the World Prayer Center duplicate and grow.
As this human prayer network grows it has many sub-organizations, with apostles and prophets. The underlings all answer to the organization at the top and often to one person who holds the control and the power. They delegate power according to a chain of command. As they multiply, like your family, the network becomes so large member organizations may not recognize each other. In a similar way network marketing companies have many companies within the mother organization. For example, Amway has many representatives that use their own company names.
One member many call his cell, Products International another representative may call his Super Sales. Why do they do this? Because many people shy away as soon as they hear the word Amway. The new cell name is a front to conceal their real identity. (I only chose Amway as an example because they are so well known.) Likewise, the satellites of the World Prayer Center carry their own personal name and will not at first sight be readily connected to the Prayer Center or to C. Peter Wagner. The World Prayer Center is urging all churches and church organizations across the US and around the world to link into their network. Their aim is to network of all churches and all church organizations.
Network marketing companies and the World Prayer Center make sure that everyone obeys the corporate rules. They have a central computer system that tracks every cell of their pyramid. Only those on top really know the whole picture. This is a clever plan to keep the left hand from knowing what the right hand is doing. One organization is at liberty to contradict another fellow organization because no one will know the difference. This allows for greater control and manupilation. The World Prayer Center may very well be just a cell of a higher organization that is even a larger network. Now isn't that a scary thought!
I want to take a closer look at the World Prayer Center Network but remember, I am only going to concentrate on C. Peter Wagner's organizations ignoring, for the time being, Ted Haggards contributions. As with the family tree model, the prayer center is like your grandparents. Global Harvest Ministries, the Wagner Institute for Practical Ministry and the Christian Information Network are like your grandparents children. Below is an incomplete picture of what I have been attempting to describe. I will only follow the line of Global Harvest Ministries focusing on its child, the Generals.

Cindy Jacobs, a self-acclaimed prophetess, assumes a false Debra position as head of the Generals. Debra, a judge, led the Army of Israel: Cindy, a general leads, the army of the US Spiritual Warfare Network.
I believe, a look at the Generals board of directors membership will aptly show how it networks into other organizations establishing connections all over the world.
Generals Board of Directors:
http://www.generals.org/gi_page_4.htmC. Peter Wagner, I have covered extensively already so I will just add that he is also the International Coordinator of the Spiritual Warfare Network and Chancellor of the Wagner Leadership Institute that he established in 1998 to help train emerging leaders to meet the challenges of contemporary ministry. The Wagner Institute equips men and women for leadership positions in churches and trans-local ministries.
Paul Tan, was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. He came to the US and worked in the business world for ten years before entering the ministry. He works with business people to promote the Wagner agenda and is part of Nehemiah Partners, an international network of Christian business people, started by Michael Jacobs. Paul is now Senior Pastor of five Indonesian Full Gospel Fellowship churches in Southern California. He serves on worldwide Apostolic teams and is a member of the National Board of the US Spiritual Warfare Network serving as coordinator of their Asian Task Force.
Bob Beckett, is co-pastor of the Dwelling Place Family Church at Hemet, CA along with his wife Susan. Beckett has taught a church growth courses at Fuller Seminary. He also has taught about the local churchs role in prayer and the transformation of a community at Wagner's, World Missions Classes and at Wagner's Spiritual Issues In Church Growth courses. He is also a committee member on the Spiritual Warfare Network and has written a book called, Commitment to Conquer in which he shares Wagner's strategic prayer principals.
Eric Belcher, was born in Wellington, New Zealand and came to the -US in 1978. Before that he started an Institute Training Center for Christian ministries in London, England. His focus is on teaching third world pastors. He served for ten years as school director for Christ For The Nations International and is presently is teaching the following courses at CFNI:

The two remaining board members are, Chuck Pierce and Cindy Jacobs. I left them to review last because they are professed prophets. I want to look a little closer at the ideas of these prophets.
Chuck Pierce, lives at Monument, Colorado and attends Ted Haggard's New Life Church. He is Vice President of Global Harvest, Director of the World Prayer Center, and is a leader of AD2000 United Prayer Track. As well, he is President of Glory Zion International Ministries in Denton, Texas. Glory Zion facilitates apostolic ministries worldwide .and develops the Eagles of God Apostolic Intercessory Teams that operate in conjunction with the Generals.
In addition, Chuck Pierce has served as Executive Director for several missions organizations. He now serves on the national boards of: Aglow International in the US, The Generals and the International Spiritual Warfare Network. On the US Spiritual Warfare Network he is an assistant coordinator along with Cindy Jacobs. And last, he has co-authored three books with C. Peter Wagners wife Doris. Now he is working on a fourth book called, The Future War of The Church.
Chuck Pierce is considered by his associates to be a prophet. His biography http://www.generals.org/board_memb.htm says he "ministers prophetically to help individuals, churches, business and mission organizations move in intercession, spiritual warfare and revival." He is a key person in their world organization used to herd every person, church related organizations and business people into the world prayer network. He uses flattering, positive prophecies for their organization to accomplish this. As well, he is heavily involved in the Eagles of God in conjunction with spiritual mapping. The Eagles are said to be a strategic prayer groups that are prepared to go on a prayer journey at a moments notice. They profess to pave the way for evangelism by demolishing demonic barriers of the highest strategic significance.
Last fall they launched a program they call Operation Queen's Palace. Their object was to confront the Queen of Heaven in Turkey. Chuck Pierce, Bobbye Byerly, Susan Ryan, and Cindy Jacobs have all taken part in this operation. They went to Turkey to battle death, destruction and hopelessness. As part of the program they went to Patmos and Ephesus. At Ephesus they celebrated the church entering the new millennium and also confronted the Queen of Heaven there. They believe the Queen of Heaven to be the dominion spirit in turkey that has been controlling lives and causing eyes to be blinded and hell to reign. They have declared May 2 to be an International Day of Repentance. They believe the Eagles and others can repent for the sins that dead people committed in by gone days. This kind of repentance is supposed to release an area from bondage. I wonder if they believe this will also release the dead sinners from purgatory?
The idea that evil spirits cause death, destruction, and hopelessness is without Biblical foundation. Satan is only a tempter, you alone make the choice to sin. Sin is what causes death and with it comes destruction and hopelessness. Sin committed in Eden caused death to come to man. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil committing the first sin that brought with it a penalty of death. Satan did not cause death he only tempted. Without sin death would not be part of our existence. In I Corinthians 15:56 we read, The sting of death is sin; In the NIV the Lord's Prayer is changed from deliver us from evil to deliver us from the evil one. This is a subtle change that shifts the focus from delivering us from evil to delivering us from the evil one, Satan. It was a change from asking for the possible to asking for the impossible. God delivers us from evil but the evil one is here for awhile longer.
We will not be delivered from Satan until Christ returns but we can be delivered from evil. We cannot escape personal responsibility for sinning. Spiritual mapping and praying for forgiveness on behalf of dead sinners is just a cop out, a cry of the devil made me do it! The only way to freedom from oppression is through overcoming as individuals. Proclamation on a pile of rubble known as the former Ephesus will not liberate one single person but the gospel of Jesus Christ will. II Corinthians 10:4 says, our weapons of warfare are not carnal. I consider spiritual mapping to be a carnal act: an unspiritual act with its foundations in the imaginations of men. Teach people to bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ and they will not be living in hopelessness.
For more on Operation Queen of Heaven and the Eagles of God. Read Pierce's Letter of April 17, 1999. http://www.glory-of-zion.org/newsletters_0.htm As far as the Queen of Heaven is concerned, she left Ephesus centuries ago and now abides within the Catholic Church.
Leaving Turkey and the Queen of heaven, I want to look at a couple of Pierces prophecies. The first on is a word for the year 1999.
There are two verses the Lord is speaking to me this year from 2 John 8 and Matthew 14:31. These scriptures say: In days ahead, there are many adversities and deceptions that will assign themselves against you as Gods people. Look to yourselves that you may not lose any ground that you have gained in your pilgrimage with the Lord. Don't fear the future. Don't let your underdeveloped faith keep you from gaining this full reward. The Lord will develop your faith. There is victory for you in the future.
First of all, what exactly did these two verse say? II John 8 says, Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Verse 9 follows with:
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
In Pierces revelation from an unnamed Lord, he focuses on the words look to yourselves. If one continues and reads verse 9, John is focusing on abiding in the doctrine of Jesus Christ. Is Jesus Christ even mentioned in the above prophecy? No! He only used Lord which is a title not a name. New Agers have assigned their own meaning to the word Lord (Lord Maitreya). They even have their own meaning for the word Christ. Christ they say is an office and Jesus did not always hold this office, "Jesus was not always the Christ. Jesus won his Christship by a strenuous life." The Aquarian Gospel. Therefore, they have denied the deity of Christ. The other passage is Matthew 14:31,
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Here Jesus is talking to Peter when he attempted to walk on water. These two verses have been intertwined, chewed up and spit out to mean: people who are going to come against their philosophy and teachings will be coming against God's people. He has declared they are Gods people and they are to look to themselves (not Jesus Christ) in their pilgrimage. He assures his followers that they will receive a full reward.
The next part of his revelation goes on to say,
There are five spiritual dynamics that I see the Lord renewing and equipping the Body as the Church approaches the new millennium: Deliverance, the Prophetic, Worship, Apostolic Leadership, and Evangelism. New anointing, new methods, and new leadership teams will arise as we prepare for Harvest!" Letter of February 1999. http://www.glory-of-zion.org/newsletters_0.htm
As I have pointed out, they prefer Lord to Jesus Christ. Lord could include anyone they revere, Jesus Christ is specifically referring to the Only Begotten Son of God. Harvest is also a preferred ambiguous word that does not necessarily refer to the saving of souls. I can't quite grasp this new thing. The old methods I readily understand: the anointing of the Holy Ghost, actually teaching and preaching the Gospel, leadership with the knowledge of truth according to the Word and a harvest of souls into the kingdom of Christ. Let's get back to specific words that mean specific things! They want to sink us into a pool of slippery language.
At the same site, in the article Letter of April 2000, Pierce is digging into the Old Testament again for the ancient paths. Pierce prophecies that they will come into wealth and power as the Lord transfers the power to gain wealth for His covenant Kingdom purposes to be established. Who is this Lord an what is his covenant kingdom. What is the covenant? Could this be the seven year covenant of Revelation? Pierce bases the new gained wealth on Deut. 8:18 which states,
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
As usual, he doesn't mention the next verse that says in contrast, if they follow after other gods they will perish. This is a passage in which Moses is speaking to the Israelites and the covenant spoken of is the covenant of Abraham. Pierce goes on to show that Mammon was the ruling god over Canaan and he had to be defeated before they could enter the promised land. Please read this whole bizarre prophecy.
Finally, let's look at the number one leader of the Generals, Cindy Jacobs.
Cindy Jacobs is married to Michael Jacobs. Cindy and Mike founded the Generals of Intercession. Mike handles the business angles and Cindy tends the prophetic visions and manifestations. Her web biography http://www.generals.org/cindy_page_4.htm refers to her as Dr. Cindy Jacobs. Cindy received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Christian International Seminary in Florida, founded by Bill Hamon. The Generals global headquarters are located in the Josiah Center at 1035 Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs. The Josiah Center is also home to the Soldiers for Jesus, the Jeremiah Project and is headquarters for the United States Spiritual Warfare Network. The United States Spiritual Warfare Network is coordinated globally by C. Peter Wagner and Cindy is the coordinator for the United States.
Cindy lectures around the world, writes many books, and is head of two huge organizations. Go to http://www.generals.org/itinerar.htm and have a look at her year 2000 schedule of events. Dont you just wonder how these super people do it? She must write in her sleep! And when does she have time for revelations and visions after spending time daily in the Word and in prayer. In addition, she goes on warfare trips with the Eagles. One just wonders doesn't he? I believe Cindy Jacobs is a shill, presented to the people of the world. The real meat comes our to the mouth of Chuck Pierce. He is after whole Christian organizations.
Cindy has been credited with The Third Day Church revelation. She cites all the things that happened on the third day in the Bible and believes the church is living in the third day because we are moving into the third millennium. She had this revelation because in II Peter 3:8 it says a thousand years is as a day to the Lord. Her revelation seemed to be greatly enhanced by her lap top computer. http://www.generals.org/news_page_4.htm
A lot of her visions are published at Rivermail found at http://www.rivermail.org . The term river is often used in the Manifest Sons Of God vocabulary. They use river to mean the Holy Spirit. If you are in the river you are in the spirit if you aren't in the river you are not in the Holy Spirit. Once again it is a non specific word that is ambiguous and if they are really taking about the Holy Spirit why don't they just say so!
One of Cindy's New Wine prophecies is locate at the Rivermail site. It is dated December 19, 1999 and was given at the Springs Harvest Fellowship. In it she says the Holy Spirit spoke to her and she began to feel the heart of God. I have some concerns with this term. For starters isn't this backwards? Act 1:24 tells us that it is God who knows the hearts of all men; not men know the heart of God.
Further in Matthew 15: 8 it says, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me.
Matthew 9:4 says, And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in you hearts. Jesus knew the heart of man but I can't think of any where that anyone ever told Jesus, I know your heart. Mark 7:21 also tells us men have evil hearts, For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts. In fact, we struggle to understand God because his ways are higher than ours. Cindy evidently thinks she is high enough to even know the heart of God. I am reminded again of Isaiah 65, a rebellious people which say, Stand by thyself, come not near unto me, for I am holier the thou.
She goes on to exhort herself, and presumably those in the congregation, with the word of the Lord. (This is not the word of the Lord as many understand it. It is a new word, a revelation that supercedes the Bible). She goes on to says the latter and former rain fell on the seeds she planted and that she will begin to see everything she ever dreamed of spring up. They believe they are the latter rain.
She also saw warriors that stood to beat of fowls of the air (those who disagree with her) that came to steal her seeds but the Lord has his hand upon her and she is coming into a new day and a new place she never dreamed of. These acclamations often include a promise that they will come into a new place they never dreamed of: they will receive power and wealth. She ends with an exclamation from the Lord, "I say to you well done, children, well done!" Notice all the praise they receive? None of that old way stuff that includes chastisement from the Lord to keep them on the straight and narrow. After all they built the road complete with New Age bridges.
Have you ever read the New Age, The Great Invocation? If you haven't here it is:
From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth. From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to earthFrom the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men-
The purpose which the Masters know and serve. From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out.
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
The first two verses infers that Christ returns to earth when the point of light from the mind of God enters into the minds of men and the point of love from God's heart enters the hearts of men. It is not a physical return of glory but a change in the minds of men. The third verse says there is a center where the will of God is known and the fourth talks about the center known as mankind. It is this center that seals the door where evil dwells. The final statement is that light, love and power restore the plan on earth. They know the heart of God and the will of God. They get their knowledge not from God but from a center. Could this center be their Akashic Records? Then man overcomes evil. This is the crux of their theology: Light, love and power restores the earth, not the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Is this how Cindy thinks she knows the heart of God; by going to the center where the will of God is known?
I am convinced that the World Prayer Center is a New Age occult replica of the real mountain of God. It was created in order to have all nations flow to it: They do have a new house of Jacobs that replaces the house of God: They have created a new theology: And they do network together under one man C. Peter Wagner to bring all churches and church organization together in unity regardless of their belief systems.
Many will be deceived, by so called, new things, but its exposure may also wake up many people. Is this different from what Satan offer Eve in the garden?"Ye shall be as gods"; you will be wise, "knowing good and evil." Isn't this what Joseph Smith also offered the Mormons? There are no short cuts to a heavenly eternity. My hope is to alert believers to return to the Word of God and throw out all of the Word of Man books, tapes and manuals they may possess. It is time we cast the money changers out of our churches who are selling their revelations and bring Bibles back in. It is time to turn away the fortune tellers and live by faith until our real Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ returns in glory. What are we to do about all of this besides clean out our libraries? Jesus told his disciples,
Behold I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16.
Serpents have no arms or legs so they must rely on their eyes and wits to survive. We are to keep our eyes open, use our heads and remain as harmless as doves by allowing Christ to fight our battles. John also had some sound advice. He told us not to entertain such people nor to give them a blessing.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. II John 9-11.
Our goal should be to abide in the doctrine of Christ rejecting all additional doctrines designed to supplant the word of God so that we may have both the Father and the Son. His grace is sufficient for us in our weakness; just as it was for Paul in his. (II Corinthians 12:9). May the Holy Spirit be our guide.
Ministries are moving to Colorado Springs in numbers. The are networked into many cities through ministries that local people trust and now they have become channels for the dogma of the Manifest Sons. It took me a few years and a swift kick in the behind from the Holy Spirit to realize what was going on. I didn't really get kicked by the Spirit of God but I felt like I had been kicked in the head when I realized I had accepted these teachings without testing them according to the Word of God.
I was prompted very strongly several times to leave my projects that I was involved with and go to the computer and search Rick Joyner in particular on the Web. Until this time I had accepted Rick Joyner as a man of God. I put his name in and pressed search and the first article I found sickened me.
The next search brought up a transcript of one of his tapes that described his involvement with being Knighted. I researched all the criteria he gave and was able from the Malta sites to pin point the branch of Malta knighthood (Knights of Malta) he had joined. Yes, it was Protestant and in Europe and No, contrary to what Rick said it does answer to the Pope. Also this site related Paul Cain's occult ability to read into people's activities. Then it went on to relate Paul Cain's audience with Saddam Hussein where Paul says "The madman (Saddam) we were supposed to meet turned out to be a family man, turned out to be someone humble enough to say some things that would blow your mind.
You could just sit there and feel the spirit he employed when he said this. All of Iraq seems to love this man. The Christian church, especially, seems to love him..."
