Flattery
is a vicious plague in Fundamental Baptist and Bible believing circles. Men like
Lee Roberson and John MacArthur are exalted and praises wherever they go. Monuments
are even built to exalt Fundamental menafter they die. Let
us see what the Bible says about flattery. The
following letter was sent to me by a Charismaniac preacher who wants to break
me down and call me to the front of the local loonie bin to fall on the floor
and vomit on myself under color of the alleged baptism of the Holy Ghost. "Jesus
has great plans for you Steve, quit hiding and hear the Word of the Lord as He
calls you out of dead religion to a living relationship with Him. He is calling
you to experience the supernatural aspect of His love. You know, healing the sick,
raising the dead, etc. It is coming for you. He is on your trail and soon you
will have a Toronto, Brownsville type encounter with the very God you have been
running from. You like so many before are persecuting the very people you will
become one of." |
This
mongrel dog is trying to move my mind to look for "something more",
"the gift," or whatever he can trigger in my imagination to exalt myself.
If I would do this, he would be first to encourage me to greatness. Of course,
he would like a little credit when Paul Crouch interviews me on the TBN show.
Here is
the answer to flattery: 2
Peter 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog

17:5 He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall
fail. Get
thee behind me Satan. It
is the mark of a cult and hireling that he is a master at flattery. You cannot
catch Jesus once flattering anyone, but you CAN find him rejecting flattery several
times. Giving credit for work well done is found in the Bible, but exalting someone
beyond measure, or predicting they will become someone great in the near future,
is wicked. Are
you one of these folks? Do you take people in and take power over them by praising
them to their own eyes and in front of others? This is Satanic, and Daniel tells
us your father, Satan, will use this method to dominate Israel and the world. Speaking
of the prince who shall come, Antichrist: Daniel
11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give
the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom
by flatteries. Daniel
11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of
strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination
that maketh desolate.
32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall
he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong,
and do exploits. Flattery
is the tool of Satan.If
you want to praise someone, praise God. If you thank God for the blessing of some
saint, the glory goes to God instead of man. This is acceptable. But, even in
this, you must be modest and restrained, or your friend my inhale the incense
and be raised up beyond measure. Also,
in closing this thought, beware of these people who prophecy that some great thing
will come to you soon. The tricky Satanists will predict that the power of the
Holy Ghost is about to fall on you. They may tell you that God showed them that
you will be doing some great thing soon. If you let this take root in your mind,
you may well be drawn into the clutches of devils. Denounce these demonic prophecies
with the strongest terms from the Word of God. My favorite: 2

Fundamental Baptist, but now he is a Charismatic braggart and false prophet, wonderful

implied to me that if I did not take his prophecy seriously I was blaspheming
the Holy Ghost. I hope he reads this. There will not be any of these flattering

Steve,
Hi brother Steve, I hope that everything is going well by the time you read this
letter. Recently
I took a look at your post on a charismatic guy who wrote you a letter. And it
was kind of funny because I went to a church that was exactly like that. People
were doing cartwheels and back flips in the Holy Ghost. I even saw a woman jump
backwards, fall, and hit a table with water and spilled it all over the floor,
and she was still rolling around like a pig in its filth. It was, to this day,
one of the most hilarious sites I have ever seen in my life. I have seen people
do the weirdest things, like one time a woman had a plastic stick with a a long
rainbow colored ribbon and she would run back and forth in the aisle swinging
it like a maniac, and people thought it was "cool", and "unique".
Speaking in
tongues was the norm and woman prophets and pastors were all the rage. To them,
Brownsville is where they are headed. I guess my whole point is that every damnable,
undoctrinal, non-suffering, prosperity doctrine is considered Holy. A man's revelation
about God, though it contradicts the Holy Scriptures is considered as almost another
book to be added in the Bible (Like that Foolio Benny Hinn's Book Good Morning
Holy Spirit). But these very people who will accept anything, and almost everything,
under the guise of the "Holy" ghost, will never accept biblical fundamentalism,
because they want to accommodate the world, rather than take the straight and
narrow and please their savior.
When I read what that guy wrote to you Steve, it reminded me of the people I used
to congregate with. When I listened to their Jumanji
version of Christianity, they called me a "David". But when I began to question
their doctrine about tongues, and the Bible issues, when I started to defend the
King James Bible; they did not give me answers. All they could do was attack me,
and they beat me, like they beat their other sheep who did not agree with them.
They were ravenous wolves, and they told me that I was "Opening the Door for the
Devil". And
it took a long time for me to heal from those hurts, because I thought that the
final authority of the Word of God meant as much to them as it meant to me. And
I bet you that very guy who is trying to flatter you into his Satanic counterfeit
circus with his complements, if someone in his congregation were to stand up for
pure doctrine, he would attack and eat them alive. One
thing I have learned about Charismatics is that they love people who are content
with the truth they give them, and despise those who seek out the truth for themselves
in the Word Of God. The nature of the charismatic man is to make himself a God-like
figure, to make himself part of an elite, "annointed" circle whom people want
to flock to, so that they don't have to do anything but give seminars and get
rich. Well
Steve, I am going to get going, I just wanted to let you know that reading that
letter you received brought back a lot of fresh and fond memories of people crying
uncontrollably, falling on the floor, and let's not forget my favorite, being
"Slain" by the "Holy" ghost. Take Care Brother and God Bless Steve, and keep on
identifying those wolves because there are many hurting out there from these people
but are too afraid to leave because they think their salvation depends on their
affiliation with these nuts.
